Far Cry 5: Crafting - How to make explosives and homeopathics

The fight against the Eden's Gate sect in Far Cry 5 allows you to use a variety of tactics. Whether you prefer to proceed quietly, attack from a distance, or charge into the enemy camps shooting wildly - it's all possible and has its advantages and disadvantages.

But especially for the last strategy you'll need a lot of ammunition in the first place, and also helpful explosive tools like dynamite or Molotov cocktails. The bad thing is that you can 't just buy these effective little helpers at the nearest merchant.

So that you don't have to search the open world for hours to find new explosives in some hiding place, we'll tell you here how you can make all this stuff yourself. In addition, there are recipes for so-called homeopathics, which give your hero in Far Cry 5 special abilities for a short time.

How crafting works in Far Cry 5

No matter if you want to craft explosives or homeopathics, crafting is always done via the weapon wheel, or you have to switch from there to the tool wheel. By the way, we have prepared a list of all weapons in Far Cry 5 for you elsewhere.

In the tool or weapon wheel, you then select the item that you want to create. There, Far Cry 5 shows you which ingredients are necessary to start crafting.

If you already have the necessary ingredients, you can create Molotov & Co. with a single keystroke and use them directly.

If you don't have everything you need to start crafting, Far Cry 5 will show you what you still need.

Ingredients for crafting in Far Cry 5

Depending on which items you want to craft, you'll need different items for production. For the explosives, these are mainly casings, blasting caps and so on.

This stuff can be found all over the game world, for example in outposts of Eden's Gate or in the many prepper hideouts.

The homeopathics are a bit different. Here, mainly herbal ingredients are used. Therefore, you'll have to keep your eyes open when exploring Hope County, because the necessary stuff grows everywhere in fictional Montana.

Ubisoft has now published a map of the game world on the official Far Cry 5 website, which is helpful here. Every player can record his finds there.

So that you know which items you need to get before your first crafting attempt, here is an overview of all crafting ingredients:

Molotov

Molotovs are basically flaming liquor bottles that blow up when they hit something and shatter. You can use them to set fires in no time.

Ingredients:

1 × liquor
1 × cap

Remote detonation explosive

The name remote detonation explosive in itself explains what this stuff does. You can place the explosive surprise anywhere and then blow it up at a distance. Handy if you're planning an ambush in Far Cry 5.

Ingredients:

2 × breech
2 × nitro
2 × detonator

Proximity explosive

Unlike the explosive before, you can't blow this one up yourself. Instead, it blows up when someone (or something) approaches it. This means less control for you, but it can still be helpful when used selectively.

With bad luck, however, it won't be a follower of Eden's Gate that runs into the trap, but perhaps a deer fleeing from a cougar.

Ingredients:

2 × housing
2 × nitro
2 × detonator

Dynamite

Just like a hand grenade, you simply throw the explosives in combat and shortly after it will go boom in Far Cry 5. If you keep the throw short, the time until the stuff blows up at the target is shortened. However, you shouldn't wait too long...

Ingredients:

2 × breech
2 × casing
2 × nitro

Homeopathics: Faster

The first homeopathic in the list is Faster - and unlike the previous items, it can no longer be found in the weapon wheel, but in the tool wheel. The stuff increases your hero's speed for a short time.

Ingredients:

2 × Bliss Oil
2 × Datura

Homeopathics: Savage

When you ingest Savage, it briefly increases the damage your melee attacks do. How useful this is depends on how you prefer to fight Joseph Seed and his lieutenants and their followers.

Ingredients:

2 × Bliss Oil
2 × Datura

Homeopathics: Ultimate Hunter

Those of you who want to hunt grizzly bears, skunks & co. extensively in Hope County and use the spoils to boost your coffers should use this homeopathic.

When you take it, you'll get animals and enemies in your line of sight marked automatically, which makes stalking much easier. It also makes predators in Far Cry 5 flee from you.

Ingredients:

2 × castilleja
2 × mustard
2 × Datura

Homeopathics: Ultimate Survivalist

This remedy is especially helpful when you're facing a particularly difficult battle. If you swallow it, it will significantly reduce the damage you take, so your hero won't die so quickly.

Ingredients:

1 × lupine
2 × Spiky Lettuce
1 × Bliss Oil

Liquor and Oregano

In the tool selection wheel you will also find Schnapps and Oregano ready to be made.

Crafting is easy here, though, because to make liquor or oregano once, you need to make liquor or oregano once in Far Cry 5.

By the way: Although it would be helpful, you are not allowed to craft medicine. You'll either have to find it in the game world as a first aid kit or buy it from the various merchants in Hope County.

Where to find plants in Far Cry 5

Finally, we want to give you some tips on where to find the herbal ingredients for the homeopathics in Far Cry 5.

On the following maps you can see some sample areas where you can find the respective herb. Of course, you can also keep your eyes open in other areas of Hope County.

Bliss oil, on the other hand, can be found in the region of Faith, where Bliss plays an important role in the story of the first-person shooter.
