Escape from Tarkov (EFT) from developer Battlestate Games is a challenging survival shooter that you can currently play in closed beta on PC. To help you survive in the abandoned city of Tarkov and collect valuable loot, we have already put together a guide with the best tips and tricks for Escape from Tarkov.

In our Hideout Guide, we will tell you everything you need to know about the Escape from Tarkov hideout. You'll also find out whether it's worth upgrading your Bitcoin farm and how to make money from your hideout.

The most important information about the Hideout in Escape from Tarkov

The Hideout is your expandable headquarters in Escape from Tarkov. It is an abandoned air raid shelter that you upgrade with so-called modules to improve various parameters of your character, among other things. In addition, the expansion allows you to craft in-game items such as medicine or ammunition. Alternatively, you can improve your hideout to unlock better conditions at merchants or on the flea market, as well as additional options for playing as scavs.

You can choose from 20 hideout modules to expand your hideout according to your preferences. In order for the modules to work smoothly, you'll first need to install a generator. This will consume one fuel canister at a time to power your hideout for 15 hours. Once the generator is turned off or runs out of gas, you won't be able to craft any items in the lair, and the other bonuses will be limited or canceled completely.

Below we have provided you with an overview of all 20 hideout modules in Escape from Tarkov. Get an overview for yourself, which upgrades are particularly useful for you.

First steps in upgrading your lair in EFT

When you die with your main character (PMC), he must first recover. During this time, you'll usually have to play a scav round or bridge the time in some other way. However, the waiting time can also be shortened. The higher the Medstation, Rest Space and Heating of your Hideout in Escape from Tarkov are, the faster and more resource-efficient your PMC will heal and recover.

After you have built the basic modules mentioned above, you will of course need a shooting range, which is relatively cheap and which you can't level up any further anyway. Previously, you always had to start a raid if you wanted to try out new weapons. Thanks to your own shooting range, you save this annoying procedure. Also, you won't use up ammo when shooting around inside the lair.

Of course, you'll also need to store your loot somewhere, which is why you'll quickly turn to expanding your stash, the capacity of which will increase as you level up. For owners of the Edge of Darkness version of Escape of Tarkov, the stash is already fully developed. If you forgo pay-to-win, you should upgrade the warehouse as soon as possible to avoid any disadvantages in the loot shooter.

The expansion of the warehouse requires the construction of further shelter modules, so you have a plan at hand in which order you will further improve the hideout. You should also build a library as soon as possible to get a permanent XP boost of 15 percent. The earlier you activate this effect in the game, the more you'll get out of it in the long run.

Farming Bitcoins in Escape from Tarkov: Is it worth it?

TheBitcoin farm is one of the most controversial hideout modules in Escape from Tarkov. This is because mining only works if you equip the module with a graphics card, which costs around 300,000 rubles. With only one graphics card, it takes about 18 hours for your farm to calculate one Bitcoin. In this scenario, it will take you a good two weeks to recoup the investment costs - not including the gasoline used for the generator.

If you want to expand the small server farm further, you first have to bring the generator and fans to level 3, which will easily cost you another million ingame rubles. After that, you can further increase your hashrate by installing up to 50 graphics cards. The cost of the GPUs comes in at around 15,000,000 rubles, with the mining time only dropping a few minutes at a time for each additional graphics card.

In order to recoup the investment costs for a fully developed Bitcoin farm, you will need at least one month. Provided you log in every 15 hours to collect the maximum of three calculated coins that are stored in the Bitcoin farm. On top of that, graphics cards are supposed to get a limited lifespan in the future, which means that the profitability of the shelter module will suffer further.

In summary, we advise casual gamers to completely avoid the Bitcoin farm in EFT. Alternatively, you can use the expensive hardware exclusively on level 1 and with only one graphics card to pick up a Bitcoin here and there. For hardcore gamers, it's a matter of faith: If you're up for it and have enough capital, it won't hurt. After about a month, you'll be profitable and your Hideout will generate a solid passive income. If you want to make money as quickly as possible, then you have better chances trading on the flea market.

Earn money with the Hideout: How it works

Once the basic structure of the hideout is in place, there are several ways to make money with the hide out in Escape from Tarkov. Since the market is very volatile, there is no strategy that you can or should blindly copy. Furthermore, Battlestate Games regularly changes the items you can craft in the crafting modules of your hideout, so there is always a demand for different materials to craft.

Nevertheless, we'll tell you some sample examples of how you can earn money with your Hideout that currently work well. Among them is the purchase of Lootboxes in the Scav Case. First and foremost, use the 6,000 ruble option, which will almost always earn you a small profit. You'll have your stake back when you get a grenade or something similar.

Also, the 70,000 ruble option can lead to massive winnings if you draw a red keycard or graphics cards. However, if you're not rolling in money, it's better to leave it alone - as a rule, you'll make a minus deal and valuable items are rare exceptions. It's better to invest your rubles in the Water Collector, which will help you convert water filters into Purified Water. When fully developed, the process takes nine hours and you double or triple the capital invested.

Alternatively, you can use the Nutrition Unit to make a packet of sugar from two bars of chocolate. This way you can easily take another 50,000 rubles with you - you can find two bars of chocolate in almost every raid. In addition, the production of IFAKs (personal tactical first aid kits) is lucrative, which you can sell for around 40,000 rubles. To make IFAKs, you'll need medicine and bandages, which you can either collect or buy at the flea market for around 20,000 rubles.

Also, be sure to bring your Intelligence Center up to level 3, which will give you a 30% discount at the flea market and save you an enormous amount of money in the long run.
