With Far Cry New Dawn, Ubisoft is moving you into a completely different setting, which raises many questions among fans. 1. Release: Far Cry New Dawn for PC, PS4, Xbox One & Nintendo Switch?

The release date for the post-apocalyptic adventure is February 15, 2019, and aside from the Nintendo Switch, the title will be released for all of the platforms listed above. So, if you own PC, PlayStation 4 or Xbox One, you will soon be able to travel to the completely changed Hope County.

2. Co-op mode: Is two-player multiplayer making a comeback?

Yes, Far Cry New Dawn offers you - just like Far Cry 4 or Far Cry 5 - the possibility to play together with a friend. If the newest offshoot of the series is oriented towards its predecessor, you will need an Internet connection as well as PS Plus or Xbox Live Gold to start the co-op mode. Moreover, playing together only works if the other player is on the same platform as you: PC users cannot play together with PS4 owners.

3. Gameplay: How does Far Cry New Dawn play?

If you want solid action-packed gameplay in the best Far Cry style, you can't miss the new part. A nuclear bomb has shaken Hope County to the core, and in order to survive, you'll have to become especially inventive. For example, you put circular saw blades into a crossbow to shoot them at enemies - more about that in the weapons section of this guide.

As usual, you'll fight the bad guys from the first-person perspective. In order to prevail against them, you'll have access to various vehicles and companions (in addition to a considerable arsenal of weapons). Additionally, a base serves as the central starting point for your missions.

This "control center" houses, among other things, specialists who will help you out with special vehicles or weapons. The further you play, the wilder your equipment becomes. Fans will accordingly get everything they love about this series.

4. Weapons: What tools will you use to fight your way through Hope County?

Since the release of Far Cry New Dawn is currently in the future, a complete list of weapons is not yet available fixed. However, a video from the North American YouTube channel of developer and publisher Ubisoft already gives some clear hints. We have embedded the video below, and now we list the currently confirmed weapons:

5. Story: Far Cry New Dawn independent of Far Cry 5?

Largely, yes, however the makers point out that you'll probably get a bit more out of the game if you've played Far Cry 5. The events of Far Cry New Dawn take place 17 years after the nuclear disaster at the end of Far Cry 5. The nuclear explosion drastically changed Hope County, and currently the region is in a phase called "Superbloom".

The plant life is sprouting like crazy and overgrowing old familiar buildings in Hope County. Due to the radiation, representatives of the animal world mutated into even more impressive creatures such as moss-covered bison, albino deer or huge, spotted wild boars. In the midst of this - literally - thriving landscape, the inhabitants, divided into factions, do their best to survive.

Hope County, however, lies right on the route of the Highwaymen: ruthless bandits who roam the post-apocalyptic world scavenging. At their head are the twins Mickey and Lou. In Far Cry New Dawn, the sisters take on the role of the head baddies that you have to stop.

6. Hurk, Jess Black & more: Who is returning from Far Cry 5?

You'll play a completely new character that has nothing to do with the main character from Far Cry 5. However, the developers confirmed that you will run into familiar faces. Far Cry New Dawn definitely includes characters from the predecessor.

It is certain that Boomer the dog did not survive the Super-GAU. From this, we deduce that other animal companions like Bear Cheeseburger or Puma Peaches will also not be back in the game. In one of the trailers listed further down in this guide, you also get to see Joseph Seed. What exactly the former cult leader is up to this time is still unclear.

At the moment, there are big question marks surrounding the fate of Jess Black. A hint about Hurk can be found in the content package of the Deluxe Edition. It is called "Hurk's Legacy" and possibly alludes to the fact that he has also passed away.

7. What companions does Far Cry New Dawn offer?

So far, we know that both human companions (Guns for Hire) and animal companions (Fangs for Hire) will return. The spry pensioner Nana acts as a sniper. Carmina Rye - daughter of Kim and Nick Rye - will also give you a hand as a companion.

For those who prefer to roam the open game world with four-legged friends, Far Cry New Dawn provides at least two animals as companions. Timber the dog belongs to the Akita breed and will hopefully comfort you after Boomer's death. Meanwhile, Horatio the boar uses all his mass as a full-grown wild boar to make life difficult for the Highwaymen.

8. Base & Open World: What does the map offer?

The action mainly takes place in the open world that you know from Far Cry 5 - however, the map in Far Cry New Dawn is completely different and thus offers you a bunch of new exploration possibilities. You organize your fight against the nasty Highwaymen from your own base. There you'll safely house friendly characters or rescued characters.

Thanks to special buildings such as a training camp, infirmary, explosives depot or herb garden, you'll equip yourself even more effectively for tough battles. You'll also receive support from specialists who will provide you with new weapons, techniques or vehicles. But the fun doesn't stop there.

During expeditions, you'll leave this open world behind and travel to completely new places in the United States of America - like canyons or the coast. There, fresh game environments and challenges await you, tempting you with valuable rewards.

9. What USK rating does the first-person shooter have?

Apparently, there is no rating yet, which is what we conclude from the latest trailers [as of January 17, 2019]. However, based on an already existing PEGI seal that shows the number 18 on the official website, we expect a corresponding USK rating. Additionally, most Far Cry parts have appeared with an "From 18" seal in the past, so we assume the same for Far Cry New Dawn.

10. Trophies, Achievements, Successes: How do you get the awards?

Far Cry New Dawn will not be released until February 15, 2019, so we currently do not have any information on trophies and other achievements. When we know more about what you can unlock in the first-person shooter, we will update this guide.

Far Cry New Dawn will be colorful and brutal.
