How do you win a match in Resident Evil Resistance?

A match consists of three phases:

  1. Collecting three key items.
  2. Activation of the threeTerminals.
  3. Destruction of the threeBio-Cores.

The locations of the key items vary with each match, as they are determined by the mastermind. Key items can only be used at the exit by players carrying the corresponding item.

In the second stage, you must kill a zombie guard and steal his key card . With the keycard, you must activate three terminals, the location of which also depends on the mastermind's choice. Only the key card holder can activate the terminals.

In Phase 3, you must find and destroy three Bio-Cores. The Bio-Cores can be destroyed by all survivors, but only one Bio-Core is open at a time. Again, the locations are chosen by the mastermind.

After destroying the three Bio-Cores, gather at the exit of the map and then escape either alone or - and this gives you more points - as a whole team.

You can only leave areas as a team.

Important: The matches are time-based. Initially, you have five minutes. Fortunately, you get extra seconds for completing areas, finding special items, and killing enemies. However, seconds are deducted when you take damage or are killed.

What abilities do the survivors have?

Each character has a so-called Fever skill (an Ultimate), as well as a Personal skill. We advise you to change characters every now and then, so that you don't have only one highly leveled survivor later on.

In the meantime, Jill Valentine has also been added via an update. More survivors will be added for free in future updates.

We have compiled the characteristics of all survivors in the following format for you:

  • Survivor name
  • Class
  • Fever skill
  • Personal skill

The following survivors exist and have these skills:

Samuel Jordan

  • Class: Damage
  • Iron Fists: Samuel goes into a berserk mode and can kill enemies with punches.
  • Running Strike: A quick punch forward that knocks enemies down.

Becca Woollett

  • Class: Damage
  • Bullet Hail: Can fire infinite ammo for a short duration.
  • Guard Stance: Kneels down to increase aiming accuracy - but cannot move during this time.

Jill Valentine

  • Class: Damage
  • S.T.A.R.S. Arsenal: Jill briefly uses particularly powerful weapons such as the Samurai Edge or the Rocket Launcher.
  • Dodge: Performs a dodge roll.

Pick the appropriate equipment before the match.

January Van Sant

  • Class: Hacker
  • EMP: It triggers an EMP shockwave that disrupts all cameras and increases the card cost for the mastermind.
  • Overload: Can disable cameras, impairing the Mastermind's vision.

Valerie Harmon

  • Class: Support
  • Modified First Aid Spray: Builds a first aid spray that heals you and any survivors in close proximity.
  • Survival Instinct: Marks items and enemies in close proximity.

Martin Sandwich

  • Class: Support
  • Lightning Bolt: Creates a lightning bolt that blinds and kills enemies.
  • Temporary Mine: Place a mine that explodes when enemies approach.

Tyrone Henry

  • Class: Tank
  • Cheer: Increases the damage resistance of all teammates.
  • Power Kick: A kick that does a lot of melee damage.

Resident Evil Resistance: Survivor Tips

The survivors' side consists of four players. In this section, we'll show you what you need to keep in mind as a survivor.

Play in a team!

Alone you are hopelessly inferior to the Mastermind. Therefore, it is important that you play in close cooperation with your teammates. Communicate - if possible - via the in-game chat or via a software like Discord on PC. On Xbox One and Playstation 4, you can use the party chats.

The map gives you the necessary overview.

At the beginning of the match, split into two groups of two to speed up the search for the key items. In phases 2 and 3, however, you should stay together because of the bosses. Also, use the map to orient yourself.

Buy weapons and healing items from the Umbrella crates

These crates serve as a store where you can buy weapons, ammo, healing items and throwing weapons like grenades. To do this, you'll need to collect the Umbrella Credits that are lying all over the map. You'll encounter strong resistance in the form of zombie groups already in the first stage. So buy helpful items like Molotov cocktails right at the beginning.

Watch out for the time limit!

If the timer is at zero, it means defeat. Kill every enemy to gain time. Collect everything you can find, but focus primarily on completing the phase objectives. After completing them, head to the exit immediately to avoid wasting time.

Fight boss creatures in Resident Evil Resistance!

The Mastermind also sends large creatures - like the Tyrant or G-Birkin from Resident Evil 2 () - into battle. These are controlled by the Mastermind himself and will stay in the match until you kill them or the boss card's action time runs out.

Face the bosses, otherwise they will stop you from targeting and run into other enemies. However, only mess with them as a whole team, as they have a lot of health and dish out quite a bit as well.

You only stand a chance against bosses as a team.

All bosses also have a special attack, with which they hold a survivor and then kill him. You can't free yourself from a boss's clutches alone, and he'll only let you go if your teammates deal enough damage. Grenades and stun grenades immediately paralyze the boss and are the most effective tactics in this case....

What masterminds are there in Resident Evil Resistance?

Each mastermind focuses on different torture methods, which is reflected in the passive abilities and boss creatures. You can play the following masterminds in Resistance:

Daniel Fabron

  • Bloodlust: Controlled creatures gain some health with each hit back.
  • Puppeteer: Increases damage dealt by controlled creatures.
  • Tyrant (Boss): Hunts survivors and fights them in melee.

Annette Birkin

  • Genetic Mutation: Boost cartridges heal creatures.
  • Zombie Apocalypse: Reduces the cost of creature cards by one point.
  • G-Birkin: Hunt down survivors and fight them in melee.

Customize the deck to your liking.

Alex Wesker

  • Biohazard: Increases the infection rate of the virus.
  • Residence of Evil: Lowers the cost of trap cards by one point.
  • Yateveo: A stationary killer plant that can block paths.

Ozwell E. Spencer

  • Umbrella Tech: Spawns fake castle parts in Phase 1, increases terminal activation time in Phase 2, and gives Bio-Cores more health in Phase 3.
  • Bio Activation: Recharges bio energy (points for the cards) while using the U.I.S. (camera system).
  • Dissolve Field: An energy field that inflicts severe damage to survivors.

Resident Evil Resistance: Tips for the Mastermind

The Mastermind doesn't get in the way of the survivors himself - instead, he unleashes zombies and other creatures on them. You'll monitor the playing field with the help of cameras. Your task is essentially to strategically place enemies and traps on the map to prevent the survivors from escaping.

Use bioenergy sparingly

Placing traps and enemies costs bioenergy. It recharges automatically over time. Nevertheless, be careful with bioenergy and do not spend it all at once. Otherwise, you may have to wait a long time before you can activate cards again.

Distract the survivors

It is important that you keep the survivors constantly on their toes. Send a few zombies at them as often as you can to distract them from the target. Let the zombies spawn in the same room so that they attack directly.

With the camera, you can even trigger traps early.

Cerberi packs (Three zombie dogs) are the best distraction method from the second stage on. Combinations of a Cerberi pack and heavy enemies like Ivys and Lickers, are especially promising.

Lure the survivors into traps

Lock doors to separate survivors from the group. Once you have a survivor trapped in a room, spawn enemies first. Then activate the camera's gun function to inflict additional damage on the player. Stay in the camera to fire on helping survivors as well.

Control creatures and bosses

You can also intervene directly in the action by taking control of individual creatures. Controlled creatures can be recognized by survivors by their red eyes. So attack them when they are fighting with a larger group of enemies. Otherwise, you should only attack individual survivors.

Use bosses against players who are out on their own. Immediately use the instant kill attack to kill the survivor, causing a time loss. Also attacks a group as a boss when they are being attacked by other enemies.
