Are you still missing the overview of all weapons in Monster Hunter Rise? No problem: In our weapon guide we have listed them all briefly and crisply.

Monster Hunter Rise: Advantages and disadvantages of the double blades

With the double blades you whirl through the air and around the monsters and land one hit after the other. Speed is of the utmost importance with this light weapon. However, to do damage with the blades, you should urgently switch to demon mode. This will increase your attacks considerably. The disadvantage: You'll use up more of your stamina. So always keep an eye on the stamina bar. You can counteract this a bit with the right equipment or food.

While using the double blades in demon mode, the demon bar will recharge. When it reaches its maximum, you'll switch to Archdemon mode. In this case, you can use your attacks without losing stamina.

Another drawback: Due to the many fast attacks, the double blades wear out quickly and you have to resharpen them regularly. Blocking is also not possible with this weapon.

How to control the double blades

You'll learn the basics of using the double blade in Monster Hunter World in no time. Among other things, you can put all 14 weapons through their paces in the training area.

KeyAction
XDouble Blade
ALoose blow
X ABlade Dance (in demon mode)
ZRTurn demon mode on and off

DemonMode: This mode affects attacks, movement, and dodging - consuming stamina. Demon mode ends when stamina is completely used up or canceled via ZR.

Ore Demon Mode: This will increase your attack value, but it will cost you parts of the demon bar. As soon as this is empty, the Archdemon Mode is also finished.

Spinning blade dance in the air: If the (ore) demon mode is activated and you jump from a ledge towards a monster, you will automatically attack. If you hit a large monster with this action, the Spinning Blade Dance becomes the Celestial Blade Dance and you deal even more damage to the monster.

Use combos and increase damage

Only those who combine wisely will do decent damage with the weapons in Monster Hunter Rise. This also applies to the double blades. As the name suggests, the simple combo is actually quite ... simple:

Double Slash (X) > Double Slash Resistance Attack (X) > Circle Slash (X)

For an immovable combo, you should memorize this key sequence:

Lunging Strike (A) > Spinning Slash (A) > Double Slash (X) > Lunging Strike (A)

If you use the demon mode you will also have a special combo at your disposal. It could hardly be simpler:

Demon Fang (X) > Demon Double Slash (X) > Demon Hex Slash (X) > Blade Dance (X A)

On the other hand, if you are in Archdemon mode, you can perform several whirls. They go like this:

Demon Vortex I (X A) > Demon Vortex II (X A) > Demon Vortex III (X A)

New in Monster Hunter Rise: Silkbinder Attacks

Two Sil k Binder Attacks - every weapon in Monster Hunter Rise has them. In the following you will find out how the new abilities look like with the double blades.

The main attacks

Shrouded Catapult: Silkbinder attack that you activate with ZL A. You'll race towards a spot in front of you. As soon as you get hit during this, you'll perform a spinning attack.

Sting Binder: Silk binder attack that you activate with ZL X. You thrust your weapon into the target and let it explode inside. If you hit the monster again at that exact spot, you'll do more damage there than before.

The double blades also have silk binder attacks.

Switching skills for the double blades

However, you don't have to take the Silk Binder attacks in the above combination, but you can also interchange them. As an alternative to the stabbing binder, there is the tower catapult in Monster Hunter Rise. You hurl a rope beetle into the air, which directly carries you away. You won't do any damage with it, but you can move through the air with your weapon drawn and be ready to fight right away.
