How long does the Outriders campaign last?

You can play Outriders as a normal linear action game while experiencing the story campaign. If you play through the game this way with one character, you should make it to the end credits after 15 to 20 hours - depending on how much time you take, how meticulously you tune your equipment, and what difficulty level you play on.

Playing time of the story side missions

Apart from the main missions, the main game of Outriders offers you a whole bunch of optional side quests, in which you'll experience smaller stories on the planet Enoch and fight against more alien enemies. In addition, there are 30 tasks that are less elaborately staged and are reminiscent of bounty hunts:

  • In the ten "Hunter" quests, you specifically go hunting for a certain alien monster.
  • In the ten "Wanted" missions, you'll kill a warlord and his henchmen.
  • In the ten "Historian" missions, you fight your way through one area each in order to recover valuable artifacts at the end.

If you play through all of these side missions once in addition to the campaign, you should end up with around 30 to 40 hours of gameplay. This is probably where you'll find yourself if you want to collect all of Outriders' trophies and achievements. You can read about them and how to get them in our Achievement Guide.

This is how long the endgame can keep you busy in the main game

Once you have completed the story campaign, the end game of Outriders is open to you - the so-called expeditions. These short, but crisply difficult missions put your character, his equipment, and the characters and equipment of your teammates to a hard test. There are 14 expeditions in total, which you have to unlock bit by bit. At the end, a particularly difficult mission awaits, which is currently something like the official conclusion of Outriders.

The time needed to get there is difficult to estimate and depends on how good your equipment is and how strong the players are with whom you attempt the expeditions. If you just want to play all the expeditions once, you should be able to do it in ten to 20 more hours.

You can find helpful tips for the expeditions in our end-game guide to Outriders.

Short and sweet: This is how long the campaign of the Worldslayer DLC lasts

Worldslayer's campaign offers you a solid story around the upcoming apocalypse and the first Altered Ereshkigal. You'll also learn more about the planet's past and the native Pax. The Worldslayer campaign is linear and entertaining, you can complete it in five to seven hours.

The endgame in Outriders Worldslayer

In the DLC for Outriders, a new end-game content awaits you with the trials of Traya Gratar. In the ancient capital of Pax, you will have to face numerous enemies and bosses in different arenas. There you will not only get strong loot, but also more background knowledge about the planet.

Different map sections await you in the trials. These are divided into skirmish arenas, optional locations and boss arenas, whose difficulty keeps increasing. The Traya Gratar trials are designed for three-player teams.

As in the main game's endgame, the Worldslayer DLC depends on how strong your equipment is, what difficulty level you play on, and whether the backstory interests you. If you only want to see everything once and try out a few apocalypse items, ten to 15 hours are perfectly sufficient.

A paradise for tinkerers - both in the main game and in the DLC

A core clientele of Outriders are pretty clearly gaming fans who can't get enough of hunting for better loot - for example, people who have sunk hundreds of hours into Diablo 3 or Borderlands. So if you like tinkering with perfectly balanced character builds, Outriders will keep you busy with its four playable classes and its mod, crafting and loot system.

If you play through the campaign with all four classes once each, play all the side missions (and repeat the most rewarding tasks dozens of times for better loot), and then rush into the endgame to gradually farm up your dream combo of weapons, mods, armor, and skills, Outriders will easily give you several hundred hours of playtime.

Old & new content remains playable

The Worldslayer DLC of Outriders is similar. With the new apocalyptic items, PAX talent trees, and Ascencion system, you'll be able to try out a variety of builds and keep perfecting your character. If you only want to play the Worldslayer content, you'll get 30 to 50 hours of additional playtime.

The new Apocalypse ranks make the main game content interesting again. If you can't find teammates for the Traya Gratar trials, you can use them to get high-level equipment through the classic expeditions. This will give you hundreds more hours of gameplay, if you don't mind reliving older content.
