In the new event Asgardsreid Festival of Assassin's Creed Valhalla you have the unique chance to win a new weapon and other special rewards. We show you how to get enough festival tokens and solve the quest about the mad monk and the stranger.

How do I start the Asgardsreid feast?

You can access the Asgardsreid Festival by installing update 1.4.0 for Assassin's Creed Valhalla. In order for the event to start, you must have reached Englaland, founded Hraefnathorp, and reached settlement level 2 during the main quest. Then enter the village and the festival will begin.

After the conversation with Sunnifa, Brun and the mad monk, the quest "Hunting for Honor" starts. Here you must win all Asgardsreid challenges once. These include an archery contest, a horse race with a time limit, and a battle against spirit creatures.

The better you do in the challenges, the more festival tokens you will receive. You can then exchange them for rewards at Norvid's Feast Shop in the town square. Don't worry, you can repeat each challenge as many times as you like to collect enough tokens for all the items.

Norvid has various settlement embellishments, tattoos, and Asgardsreid-style hair ornaments on offer. The standout rewards, however, are the Bone Raven raven skin for 250 tokens and the superior Hels Scythe weapon, which you can purchase for 350 tokens.

Asgardsreid Challenges: Focused strategy

The archery competition is triggered by Thyrvi at the small bridge. The goal is to hit as many targets as possible in two minutes. Green targets score 15 points, orange targets score 20 points, and red targets score 25 points. The circular targets change position every few seconds. Also, dummies keep crossing your shooting path. Avoid hitting them and shoot only at the colored targets.

Asgardsreid Challenges: Glory Ride

At the northeastern edge of the forest you will meet Aki and you can start the horse race. You will start with a 30-second time limit and receive an additional five seconds for each checkpoint you reach. If you hit one of the many targets along the way with your bow and arrow during the ride, you will receive a time bonus of three or five seconds, depending on the type. You must reach the gates before the countdown is over.

Asgardsreid Challenges: Hidden Threats

At the pond near Svaeina you may face a supernatural combat challenge. You will have to deal with three waves of enemies. In the first, you will face three simple Ghost Warriors and a Pikeman. The second wave brings Saxon soldiers and an elite warrior to the battlefield.

Defeat these three and you will be attacked by a powerful werewolf. Dodge its quick paw strikes as soon as they glow orange. Immediately give him a few blows from the side. If it gets too close to you, it will grab Eivor and hit you with hard biting attacks.

In the third wave, a Skull Splitter and a Ghost Warrior will attack you with ranged weapons. So watch out for flying axes while you're busy in melee. The finale pits you against a wolf sorceress and another werewolf. Keep the furry attacker at bay with arrows while you take apart the wolf sorceress in close combat.

This is how you solve the Asgard's Reid Festival quest series

Find the Mad Monk in the forest northeast of Hraefnathorp by his campfire. During the vision, run toward the light in the northeast until you reach a large stone circle with rune symbols. Run down the slope a few feet to the southwest and look at the rune on the stone by the torch. Return to the stone circle and position yourself as shown in the following screenshot. You will then have to fight your likeness in a duel.

Once you have regained consciousness at the longhouse, run to the fairground and examine Gudmund's ship. You will find the stranger under the bridge north of the longhouse. Read his note and ride to the Ragnarsson lookout, the vantage point northwest of Hraefnathorp. Climb up and look south. There you will find a column of smoke. Ride to the small camp and interact with the smoke pot.

In the vision you will have to follow several clues. First, look at the campfire and then climb down the mountain. Run to the riverbank in the south. There is another camp by the large tree. Inspect the bracelet next to the tent. Cross the river and examine the spear above the camp. Turn around and swim west in the river.

Take your bearings from the black clouds of mist. Dive under and inspect the shipwreck. Afterwards Eivor reconstructs the events and you have solved the mystery of the stranger. Now honor him at Gudmund's ship to finish the quest. To complete the final quest, "A Measure of Respect," all you have to do is talk to the Mad Monk at night. Wait until it gets dark or meditate to fast forward the time.
