Doom Eternal from developer Bethesda was released on March 20, 2020 for PC, Playstation 4 () and Xbox One (). In the remake of the legendary shooter, you can find a lot of collectibles. To help you in your search, we'll tell you the locations of all the secrets from the first two missions in this collectible guide. We will also show you how to find all the other collectibles yourself.

Doom Eternal - All collectibles and collector's items

In Doom Eternal there are countless collectibles and collectibles. The so-called secrets are not only interesting for collectibles fans, but also bring you advantages in the game. Which collectibles are available in Doom Eternal and what they bring you, you can find out in the following overview:

Cheat CodesCheat codes are cheats that you can activate at any time. Despite activated cheats you will progress in the campaign, but slayer gates will be disabled.

Secret encountersSecret encounters are time limit challenges for which you receive weapon points.
Guardian CrystalsWith Guardian Crystals, you activate permanent enhancements for the Slayer while unlocking various Perks.

RunesRunes are advanced abilities that will help you fight the demon army from hell.

How to find all collectibles and secrets in Doom Eternal

All collectibles in Doom Eternal are displayed on the AutoMap. As soon as you approach a collectible, a yellow question mark with the label "Secret" will appear on your map. There is almost always a small mystery between you and the coveted item. Therefore, scan your surroundings for crumbling walls, secret passages or moving crates.

Furthermore, you'll get additional bonuses if you find all the collectibles in a mission. If you manage to complete the Codex Collection or Toy Collection in a single score, you'll be rewarded with a trophy. The same goes for closing all Slayer gates, finding all Praetor Suit extras, or collecting 20 extra lives. Take a look at our trophy guide for Doom Eternal, where you will find an overview.

The fastest way to find all the collectibles in Doom Eternal is to upgrade the Item Seeker skill in the Exploration category of your Praetorian suit. This will show you all the secrets on the map, so all you have to do is walk through them. This also applies to areas you haven't explored yet.

To do this, however, you must first unlock the Praetor's Suit. To make sure you do that as quickly as possible and don't miss any other collectibles until then, we'll tell you the locations of all the secrets from the first missions in Doom Eternal.

Hell on Earth (Mission #1) - Locations: All Secrets & Collectibles

The journey to the Deag Nilox chamber

Toy: Zombie (Earth) Shortly after you find the chainsaw, you will discover the first question mark behind a grate. Run to the opposite side of the room and smash the crumbling wall on the opposite side. Follow the path to the supposed end to look up and jump to the higher level, where you will collect the toy.
Weapon ModIn the same room, there is a green crate. Use a melee attack to hurl it across the area, then use it as a platform from which you can reach the upper level of the room. There you will find the weapon mod and armor.
Codex Entry: Barges of HellJust before the Deag Nilox chamber, you'll find a wide corridor and thus the first Codex entry in the game - the location is hard to miss.

Codex entry: Remaining human population - part 1Follow the street in the destroyed metropolis until you discover the Codex entry on the right side.
Weapon ModA few meters further, jump through the destroyed wall of a building, where you will collect the next weapon mod.
Toy: Doom SlayerShortly after, you'll reach a deep chasm, which you don't jump down immediately. Instead, open the AutoMap and you'll see a question mark to your left. Use the double jump to jump to a spiked corpse in the same direction. Right next to it is a small alcove and the next Doom Eternal Collectible.

First arachnotron to the subway

Toy: ImpAt the place where you meet the first Arachnotron there is an overturned truck from which you jump into the adjacent building (ShuZ sign). Inside you will find a large hole and a cracked wall on the opposite side of the room. Smash it to take the next collectible in Doom Eternal.
Codex Entry: Remaining Human Population - Part IIAfter that, drop through the hole and cross the following room until it goes down another level. Instead of dropping, double jump over the hole and collect the codex entry on the other side.
Extra lifeFrom there, drop down and find an extra life.

Extra lifeYou will find the next extra life shortly after, very close to the gate with the inscription "Security Level: Yellow". Directly opposite, a building leads to a longer street. Take a closer look at the first large ruin on your left and notice the crack in the wall. In the hiding place behind it you will find the next Doom Eternal secret.
Weapon ModThe weapon mod is hard to miss. After running down an escalator to the subway and being attacked by fireballs, you'll find the collectible just before the next Arachnotron lurks.
Code Entry: Formation of the ArcYou can find the code entry at the end of a subway shaft, just before the first tentacle in the game attacks you.

Reach the Citadel

Cheat Code: Unlimited Extra LivesAfter clearing the next room of enemies, run through a narrow passage. On the right side you will see a dead end with a crate. Jump on it and break the grate above you. You have found the first cheat code in Doom Eternal.
Extra lifeTake a closer look at the elevator shaft in the department store. You will find the next Doom Eternal collectible behind an elevator door that is open a crack.
Extra lifeAfter that, follow the road until you come across a wide underpass and an overturned truck. Climb onto the truck on the right and get the extra life via double jump.

Codex Entry: Hell PriestWhen you reach the Citadel Chamber, don't immediately activate the device in the middle, but go to the left, where you'll discover the next Doom Eternal secret in an alcove.
Codex Entry: Deag NiloxThen run in the opposite direction until you come across the last Codex entry of the level.

Exultia (Mission #2) - Locations: All Secrets & Collectibles

From Blood Strike to Dash Ability

Extra LifeThe first collectible can be found on an elongated platform at the beginning of the mission.
Codex entry: ExultiaShortly thereafter, break through the green glowing wall after you have overcome the passage with the help of the crossbar.
RuneClimb down all the levels after finding the "Bloodstroke" and discover the rune in a circular passage.
Extra lifeRight next to the rune you will see an opening with a crossbar behind it. Use the bar to climb up to the next level and take the next collectible.
Toy: ArachnotronFollow the path until you reach a demon guarding an alcove with a crack in the wall. Behind it hides another Doom Eternal Collectible.

Codex Entry: The WolfYou will find the codex entry near the kneeling statue.
Codex Entry: The Story of the Guardians - Part IOn the upper level, where you have to break the three chains, you will discover the next collectible (just before you find the Dash ability).
Extra lifeAfter finding the Dash ability, use it immediately to jump onto a small section of path in the opposite direction of the destination marker.
Extra lifeBehind the throne of King of King Novik.
Codex Entry: King NovikGo down the stairs next to the entrance of the throne room to collect the next codex entry.

Activate statue and escape lava

Collectible Found at
Guardian BatteryYou will automatically find your first Guardian Battery in Doom Eternal by following the Destination Marker.
Album: Doom - At Doom's GateHit the crate next to the large metal arm to reveal a secret passage that will lead you directly to the next collectible.
Weapon ModFollow the passage next to the metal arm and wade through a purple liquid full of tentacles. Behind it, jump to the notch wall, from which you will see the next weapon mod.
Extra lifeLook around where you found the weapon mod and double jump to the extra life floating in the air near you.
Codex Entry: The Guardians' Stories - Part IIPick up the next Doom Eternal Collectible next to the bridge on the way to the Pentagram, where you will be attacked by a Soldier.

In this area you'll find several collectibles!

Secret EncounterAfter using the top battery on the statue, balance to the front end of its giant weapon. From there you will see a black and red orb. You have discovered the first Secret Encounter in Doom Eternal.
Guardian CrystalLook for a purple stream in the lava area where you encounter the unstable platforms. Here you will find a Guardian Crystal guarded by a tentacle.
Codex Entry: The Guardians' Story - Part IIIYou'll find the next Doom Eternal Collectible shortly after, after taking down another Arachnotron. Don't follow the finish marker, but jump to the ledge in the opposite direction to take the next Codex entry.

Slayer Gate to Fortress of Doom

CollectibleLocation
Slayer GateAfter you have mastered the jump passage with the burning chains and are attacked by two Cacodemons, do not use the jump pad, but climb up the notch wall to get to the first Slayer Gate in Doom Eternal.
Slayer KeyUse the Dash Booster floating in the air to jump onto a small platform in the cave to the left of the Slayer Gate and bag the Slayer Key.
Extra lifeYou can spot the next extra life in the cave behind the slayer gate - you can reach it with a Dash jump to the notch wall.

Behind the lava fall hides a Doom: Eternal Collectible!

Toy: CacodemonShortly after, you'll spy a lava fall. With a skillful Dash double jump you make it behind it and find the Cacodemon toy.
Codex Entry: The TraitorLook for a jump field near the large statue. From there you will reach the last Codex entry of the mission.
Extra LifeYou'll spot the next Doom Eternal collectible at the challenging jump passage with the rotating burning chain. Better collect it, because an uphill battle follows.
Praetor Suit PointFollow all the tasks in the Fortress of Doom until the Praetor Suit is activated. From now on, with the Item Seeker skill, all secrets in Doom Eternal will be displayed on the AutoMap, so you won't miss anything.
