- Where to find the wreckage parts
Need for Speed Payback, which was released on November 10, 2017 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, gives you plenty of side activities as a typical open-world game, so you won't get bored apart from the actual story.
One of them is the scavenger hunt for wrecked cars and their parts, in order to restore the partly legendary cars and pimp them in the tuning workshop of Need for Speed Payback. A total of five of these bullets are waiting for you to put them back on the road: Chevrolet Bel Air 1955, Ford Mustang 1965, NISSAN Fairlady ZG 1971, Chevrolet C10 Stepside Pickup 1965 and VW Beetle 1963.
But you shouldn't confuse these wrecks with the abandoned cars that appear sporadically in Need for Speed Payback. Our guide to the abandoned cars tells you what they are and how you can find them.
Since the search for the cars isn't always easy, we'll give you some tips and the locations of the parts here. By the way, don't panic if you later sell a restored wreck by mistake. We'll tell you how to get it back. The exact values of the five legendary cars can be found in our comprehensive Need for Speed Payback car list.
Tips for finding wreckage parts
- To begin with, the following is important: finding car wrecks just like that is difficult. Usually you get the first hint of such a wreck when you defeat the boss of a racing league. The tip is his reward to you, so to speak. Through this help you will eventually find the chassis and then get more tips on where to find the missing parts.
- The parts are usually hidden in elevated places, places you can't just drive to. So, in the target area where you suspect the wreckage to be, keep an eye out for ramps that serve to help you get to the target.
- In addition, a kind of radar as soon as you get close to a chassis or wreckage. The more often the beep sounds, the closer you are. If you move away, on the other hand, the distance between the beeps will increase until the radar goes completely silent.
- The search for the wrecks and wreckage is best done with a vehicle of the off-road class, because the "scrap" is almost always stored off the road.
- Once you have the chassis and all the parts, go to your garage. There you can assemble and restore the wreck. However, you'll have to decide which of the five vehicle classes (racer, off-road, drag, drift or runner) you want to put it in. This choice cannot be changed later. The good news, however, is that once you've rebuilt a wrecked car, you can later purchase it from the car dealers and add it to your fleet for other classes as well.
