The hype around FIFA 21 is especially big this year. This is also true for the most popular FIFA mode: FIFA Ultimate Team (FUT). In FUT you can build your dream team and compete with players from all over the world. In our FUT guide, we'll tell you how to get off to the perfect start in FIFA Ultimate Team and what you need to know to get better in FUT 21.

FUT Guide: What is FIFA Ultimate Team?

FIFA Ultimate Team (FUT) is where you develop your dream team and compete against other players around the world. In recent years, FUT has become the most popular FIFA game mode, so much so that it is now also present in other sports games from EA, for example in NHL 21 () or Madden NFL 21 ().

You start with a handful of bad players and a few coins to develop your FUT team over months. To sign new players, you'll have to earn FUT coins. You can do this by skillfully trading FUT items on the transfer market or by playing the following game modes within FIFA Ultimate Team:

Squad Battles

Squad Battles is the single player mode in FUT 21, where you compete against different community teams controlled by the AI. The higher you set the difficulty level and the better you play, the more points you get for a victory. Your goal in Squad Battles is to earn as many points as possible for the weekly ranking.

The more Squad Battles points you collect, the higher your rank and thus the weekly reward. You will receive the Squad Battles rewards on Sunday nights at 00:00. Therefore, you always have from Monday to Sunday to earn a good rank.

Although the games against the AI are monotonous, you will be rewarded with five-digit coin amounts and particularly valuable player packs. Squad Battles are especially worthwhile at the beginning of a new FUT season, because the rewards give you a big boost, no matter how good you are in FIFA 21.

Squad Battles tips: Choose the semi-professional difficulty level - even as a FIFA 21 newcomer you should score the 1:0 effortlessly. Afterwards, grab the ball and pass it back to a central defender. Run into your own five-meter area with the center back and execute a faked shot (shoot key, quickly followed by the pass key). The opponents won't attack you, so you can move on to other things and still earn a good Squad Battles rank.

Division Rivals

Division Rivals is a multiplayer mode in which you compete against other players' FUT squads. First, you have to complete five matches so that EA can determine your skill points and assign you to one of ten divisions. For completing Division Rivals matches you will receive FUT Coins, Rivals Points and FUT Champs Points. In addition, your skill value will improve or worsen as you win or lose matches, which will move you up or down the divisions.

Your goal is to earn Rivals points to reach a high rank within your division and collect better rewards. A Division Rivals week always starts at 08:00 on Thursdays. Division Rivals rewards also come shortly after - always for the division in which you started the previous week. Make a few Rivals matches each week to take home the high-value rewards.

And more importantly, to collect FUT Champs points. Because you need 2,000 FUT Champs points to qualify for FUT Champions.

FUT Champions

The so-called Weekend League is the top class in FUT. It starts every Friday at 08:00 and ends on Monday morning at the same time. You can play a maximum of 30 Weekend League matches during this period. The more victories you achieve, the better rewards you will receive. In addition, you will receive 400 Rivals points per Weekend League match, regardless of the result.

One of the most important tips from our FUT guide is: Complete as many Weekend League matches as possible - whenever you can. For one thing, you'll get the best rewards in FUT 21, including many coins, player packs and player picks from the current team of the week. On the other hand, you will automatically achieve a Division Rivals rank and thus additional rewards.

Keep the following FUT tips in mind if you want to get better in the Weekend League:

  • Avoid the main game times from 14:00 to 22:00. During this time, the EA servers are often overloaded and you will have to settle for a poorer connection.
  • Complete a friendly or Division Rivals game to warm up and don't start the Weekend League session cold .
  • Spread your games out over the weekend. Optimally, save 10-15 games for Sunday evening.
  • Takebreaks after you lose a game and get angry. If you don't have a clear head, you will play worse.
  • If things don't go well: Don't sell your team during Weekend League. Most of the time it's not the team, but your form of the day.
  • Have at least three tactics in your luggage. You need a standard tactic that you are used to. You also need an alternative tactic if you urgently need a goal. In addition, we recommend defensive tactics to save narrow leads over the last minutes.

Squad Building Challenges

In Squad Building Challenges (SBCs) you create FUT squads that meet certain requirements. If your squad meets all the requirements, you trade it in for rewards (packs, coins, or special cards). The used players will be removed from your club. As a result, you'll always have to weigh whether the trade is worth it.

If you follow the advice from our FUT guide, then you will largely do without solving SBCs - at least if there are special cards as a reward. Because in the course of the season better and better cards appear, so that you don't keep the traded SBC players in the team for a long time. Furthermore, they are "untradeable", so you can't sell them and your invested coins are lost forever.

On the other hand, strike at SBCs, from which you'll get valuable, tradeable packs - for example, Mega Packs or Rare Mega Packs. These include the Hybrid Leagues, Hybrid Nations, and League/Nation Hybrid SBCs, which you'll need to complete as soon as possible when you start FUT 21. You can find them in the SBC section under the "Basics" tab.

If you are not sure whether a FUT 21 SBC is worth it, have a look at the SBC overview of FUTBIN. There are all Squad Building Challenges listed and evaluated. You will also find a selection of suitable SBC solutions. Do not use the cheapest solutions, but orientate yourself below the top 10, as the prices are not updated in real time and otherwise you often pay too much.

Goals & season progress

Also in FIFA 21 there are the goals and milestones introduced in the predecessor. These are small and big tasks around the different game modes of FUT 21. Depending on the difficulty of the completed task, you will secure unique bonuses like consumable objects, players, coins or packs.

We recommend that you visit the area regularly and complete all the objectives that you can easily take with you. This is because you will always receive experience points (EP) for completed tasks. Once you collect a certain amount of XP, your seasonal progress will increase by one level and you will take additional rewards. Furthermore, experience points help with the new community events, which we will introduce to you in the following chapter of the FUT guide.

FIFA 21: What are the new features in FUT?

In FIFA 21 the FIFA Ultimate Team has got some new features and improvements. In FUT 21 you can participate in community events or design and develop your own stadium. Furthermore, a completely new FUT co-op game mode has been introduced.

Community Events & Team Events

The first innovation in FUT 21 is the introduction of team and community events in FIFA 21. In community events all players work together to fulfill different goals and collect experience points. The more points accumulated in total, the more lavish the rewards will be. If you have mastered at least one community goal, you will receive all community rewards.

In FUT Team Events, the FUT community is divided into five groups that compete with each other. Each team gets individual goals and you decide which group you support. Unlike the community events, the team events in FUT 21 are not about the total amount of XP collected. Instead, the EP average of each team member counts.

FUT Stadiums

In FUT 21, the stadiums have been completely overhauled. Instead of buying a ready-made home stadium on the transfer market, you start the FIFA 21 season with your own FUT stadium. The special thing about it is that you can unlock countless new customization options. Furthermore, the new stadiums grow with the success of your FUT team.

Furthermore, you can customize crests, choreographies, fan chants, pyrotechnics and much more, making every FUT stadium unique. Especially cool are the new goal songs in FUT 21, with which you can celebrate your goals in style. To unlock new features to customize your stadium, you'll need tocomplete the "Stadium Development" goals found under the "Milestones" tab.

FUT 21 Co-op Mode

The biggest innovation in FIFA Ultimate Team is the introduction of the new FUT co-op mode. Although a second player could already join as a guest on the same device, there was never a proper online co-op mode. This is remedied by the new co-op lobby in FUT 21, where you can team up with friends online to play Division Rivals, Squad Battles or friendlies together.

The one who invites a friend in the co-op lobby automatically becomes the captain and provides the team. Furthermore, he determines the game mode and takes control in the main menu. Matchmaking is based on the strongest player in a duo. If you play in Division 2 and your friend in Division 6, you will face opponents from Division 2 - regardless of who is captain.

In addition, both players will receive all Rivals rewards in co-op, so both will progress in FIFA Ultimate Team and the second player will not be at a disadvantage. Note, however, that both players will also use up their weekly matches if you compete in Rivals or Squad Battles co-op.

FUT Guide: How to get the perfect start in FUT 21?

With so many game modes and new features in FUT 21, it's easy to lose track of everything. That's why we'll tell you in the last section of our FUT Guide how to get off to the perfect start in FIFA Ultimate Team:

Choose a loan player of your choice and select the jerseys for your team after logging into FUT 21 for the first time. Here you can already take the first coins, if you choose popular jerseys or rare silver cards, which you immediately sell on the transfer market.

Then you navigate to the store, open all available player packs and immediately put the drawn contents on the transfer market. After that, collect your coin bonuses for the first ten games. The quickest way to do this is to start friendly matches, score a goal each time, and end the match early. The bonus will still be awarded to you.

Continue with the goals: First solve all the "Chemistry" and "Fort. Chemistry" in the Basics tab to unlock two gold packs and a few coins. If you want, you can also take the objectives under "Squad Building Challenges". Furthermore, the goals "Three Nations" and "Advance Access" are interesting if you want to secure some extra packs and FUT items.

With the completed objectives and the coin bonuses, you will have your first coins and players in the club, so you can move on to the first Squad Building Challenges. Solve the following SBCs in the Basics tab: Hybrid Leagues, Hybrid Nations, League/Nations Hybrid. Just use FUTBIN's SBC solutions, but don't choose the cheapest ones. With the above mentioned SBCs you will definitely make a profit and attract one or two good players.

If you have mastered all the above steps from our FUT guide, you are perfectly started into the new FUT season. You have done everything important and have enough players for a useful starter team in your club. In addition, you have some coins on the high side, so you can start trading.

FUT Tips: How the loyalty glitch works in FIFA 21 on PS4

For some SBC solutions in FIFA 21 you need one or more players with loyalty. You achieve loyalty by playing ten matches in any game mode (excluding friendlies) with the respective player. If this is too much work for you, simply apply the following loyalty glitch for FUT 21:

  • Create a squad with the players you want to receive loyalty (an extra team chemistry point).
  • Start a Squad Battles match against the "Team of the Week" (regardless of difficulty).
  • After kickoff, navigate to "Test Connection" in the Playstation menu.

Since your connection is briefly interrupted due to the test, the game is automatically ended. However, the defeat will not be included in your statistics and your players will be credited with a stake. Repeat the procedure ten times (effort: about 10 minutes) and all players of the squad will be loyal to you.

The FUT loyalty glitch is even faster if you - by double-clicking the PlayStation button - immediately jump back and forth between FIFA 21 and the "Test Connection" page.
