Life is Strange: True Colors - Solution to all side missions

In this guide to Life is Strange: True Colors you will learn:

  • What side missions there are
  • Where to find the hidden tasks
  • How to solve the missions

The gameplay in Life is Strange: True Colors actually follows a fairly linear path. The game is divided into different chapters, which in turn take you to different locations. However, the residents of Haven Springs are more talkative than you'd think, and Alex's superpower can be used to find hidden side quests.

Each side mission also rewards you with a trophy in Life is Strange: True Colors.

Side mission 1: Bird watching

You will find the first side quest at the beginning of the second chapter. When you are given the task to look for Mac, you will be able to move freely in the city for the first time. Go to the park and look for a woman with binoculars. This is a birdwatcher who is looking for a rare buzzard.

The buzzard you are looking for is sitting in a tree behind the Brown Bear Diner.

Use your super power and interact with the woman to start the side mission. Head to the still-closed Brown Bear Diner, which is across the street from the Black Lantern. Circle the building to enter a small alley with a kettle barbecue. Behind the stone wall is a prominent tree that is home to the bird you are looking for. Interact with the bird and talk to the birdwatcher again to complete the mission.

Side Mission 2: Dog Found

The second side mission also starts in Chapter 2 and can be found right after the first side mission. Run into the record store to locate a "guy with a hoodie". With the help of your superpower, you'll learn that the man is pining for a "Chrissy" who seems to have left him.

You will find the "guy with the hoodie" in the record store.

Turn on your heel and look at the opposite wall of the record store. Here you will find a bulletin board that tells you that Chrissy is a runaway dog that you saw earlier in the hardware store. Talk to the man again to complete the mission.

Side Mission 3: Earwig Hunter

The third side mission can be found in chapter 3. At the beginning of the chapter, you are in the Black Lantern and you have the task to steal a USB flash drive. There is a student sitting at one of the tables, and you can use your superpower on her. You learn that the girl would like to listen to an old song that used to be played regularly in the bar.

The student is sitting at one of the tables in the Black Lantern.

Turn to Steph and Ryan and ask about the old song. They tell you that Jed removed the song from the jukebox. After a short conversation with the bar owner, you will learn that the song is hidden behind the counter. You will find the song you are looking for next to the monitor. Then interact with the jukebox to complete the mission.

Side Mission 4: Exactly 731

The last side mission can be found in chapter 4. After chatting with Steph and Ryan at the Spring Festival, you'll be able to talk to the various visitors of the festivity. To the right of the stage, you'll see the "guy with the hoodie" again, who wants to participate in a sweepstakes. The object of the game is to guess how many jelly beans are in the jar.

The organizer of the sweepstakes wants the prize for herself.

A closer look at the organizer reveals that she wants to keep the winning voucher for herself. Talk to the man and select "800". Now use your super power on the organizer to read her mind, then talk to the man again and this time select "700". Listen to the organizer's thoughts again to get the correct answer. You will complete the task by telling the man the correct number of jelly beans - 731.

Completing all the tasks is linked to four special trophies. In addition to the trophies, you'll need all of the hidden mementos we show in our Life is Strange: True Colors Collectibles Guide to earn the Platinum Trophy in the game.
