1. Days Gone: How the factions work

There are a total of five factions waiting for you in Days Gone - even if the last two belong together story-wise. During the story, you will gradually come across all the camps and can do a lot of things there. Each camp offers the following points of contact:

  • Kitchen
  • Loot
  • Merchant
  • Mechanic

The first two can be found in every camp and they always serve the same function. In the kitchen you sell meat from killed animals and collected plants. At the loot station you get credits for the remains of your killed freaker enemies. You also get trust at the camp, which leads to a new trust level and unlocks new items.

At the merchant you'll get new weapons that you can change at any weapon cabinet, and at the mechanic you'll upgrade your bike with better parts. However, these two points of contact vary depending on the camp. At Copeland, for example, you can upgrade your bike, but you can't buy weapons.

At the bottom left you can always see how many credits you have in which warehouse.

You should also note that you have a separate wallet for each warehouse. For example, if you earn credits by doing side jobs at Tucker, they are only valid there. So you have to think carefully about where you send rescued people. In the inventory menu you can always see how much money you have and where.

2. Days Gone factions: Copelands Camp

  • Area: Cascade
  • Side missions: Six
  • Specialization: Motorcycle

Copelands Camp is the first camp you will visit.

At Copeland, you can primarily upgrade your bike. This is also the first chance to buy a nitrous injection once you have unlocked confidence level 2. In exchange, you won't be able to buy any weapons here.

3. Days Gone Factions: Tucker's Camp/Hot Springs Camp

  • Area: Belknap
  • Side Missions: Eight
  • Specialization: Weapons

Tucker's Camp offers weapons, but you won't need them at the beginning.

Tucker's work camp mainly offers you weapons that you can use permanently via weapon lockers - other than shooting irons from killed enemies. On the other hand, there are no improvements for your bike here.

4. Days Gone Factions: Iron Mik's Camp/Lost Lake Camp

  • Area: Lost Lake
  • Side missions: Seven
  • Specialization: Motorcycle & Weapons

You can sell loot anywhere - even at Iron Mike.

Once you get to Iron Mike in the story, it's your warehouse of choice. Not only can you buy weapons and bike improvements here, but you'll also get the best goods. The weapons are stronger than Tucker's, and the bike parts are better than Copeland's.

5. Days Gone factions: Diamond Lake

  • Area: Crater Lake
  • Side missions: 13 together with Wizard Island
  • Specialization: Motorcycle

Behind the Palisades you will get the best motorcycle upgrades in the entire game.

After you leave the North, you can complete your motorcycle here. The best upgrades for the bike are only available here - but once again, no weapons.

6. Days Gone Factions: Wizard Island

  • Area: Crater Lake
  • Side missions: 13 together with Diamond Lake
  • Specialization: Weapons

Kitchen and loot station serve as a source of money and trust. Here you can get both in exchange for goods.

On the big island you won't get any motorcycle upgrades, but you will get the best weapons in the whole game. Even at trust level 1, you'll get handsome guns here, which you should definitely buy.

7. Days Gone factions: How to proceed?

Basically, it's up to you how you invest in the camps - all of them have their advantages and disadvantages. However, it's worth sending money and rescued people to Copeland's camp at the beginning. The motorcycle upgrades are indispensable, especially if you want to collect the NERO syringes.

The nitrous oxide is indispensable - get it as soon as you can.

Weapons, on the other hand, you hardly need other than the hero Deacon owns. Only with the new Lost Lake area should you worry about this - before that, the standard weapons are more than enough. So you can leave Tucker's Camp aside from the side missions.

Even though it's only accessible in the last third of the game, you should wait until Wizard Island to buy the best shooting sticks.
