After the disaster, everything has changed in Hope County. Therefore, a side mission in Far Cry New Dawn takes care of coming to terms with the past, so to speak. In a photo box in Prosperity, you'll find nine pictures that show places on the island before the bombs were detonated. Your task is to find these places now.

For the "Thousand Words" mission, compare the pictures from before with the current state of the places shown on them. If you are nearby, the game will show you the message "In the search area" and you can get the picture from the bag. Once you have collected all the photos, a reward awaits you. You will get the trophy "Everything used to be better" for your collection.

While some places can still be recognized well, other places are frighteningly destroyed. Some places you might not even recognize as locations from Part5 if the quest didn't point them out to you. This also brings to mind the powerful destructive force of the atomic bombs that exploded 17 years ago.

1. Photo at John Seeds Ranch

Head just a few steps away from your own home, Prosperity, for the first picture. Keep west of the gates and you should see "In the search area." Here you will find the first location: the ranch of John Seed.

2. Photo at Rye & Daughter Aviation

If you're just near Prosperity anyway, you can keep a little further east and fight your way towards the riverbank. There you should come across Rye & Daughter Aviation, where you'll again pull out a photo.

3. Photo at the refinery

At the refinery, you'll come across another building that should be familiar if you've played Far Cry 5. At the Holland Valleys grain elevator, you can pull out another photo and reminisce.

4. Photo from Fall's End

As you can see in our hunt guide, a lot of the action revolves around the outpost called Schrauberbude. A souvenir photo was also taken near here. A bit south of it you'll come across Fall's End, the airy silo.

5. Photo from the Bridge of Tears

A large river runs through Hope County, and bridges have been built along its banks. A little south of the destroyed bridge, you'll come to your next photo subject. Get out the picture and look at the red bridge that towered over the river at that time.

6. Photo at the packing plant

Especially after the apocalypse, finding new food sources is a challenge. If you want to reminisce a bit about the bygone era, head to The Pantry outpost. Move a little east and discover the Gardenview packing plant, which used to be worth a photo.

7. Photo of Geothermal Park

In the far east of Hope County, you'll come across Chateau Boshaw. There nearby you'll find another souvenir photo of Tracey. The Mastodon Geothermal Park is a beautiful subject that she wanted to capture at that time.

8. Photo of Joseph's estate

Of course, a picture of the dwelling of the prophet of that time, Joseph Seed, should not be missing. Shortly before New Eden you can still discover his church, but it has changed a lot over time. Hold the photo from back then against it and be amazed.

9. Photo of McKinley Dam

In the very north of the map you will find the last place of your memory photos. Look around here, reminisce about the events from Far Cry 5, and then take out the picture from your inventory when you're standing in front of McKinley Dam.

10. Tips for the quest

It's best to get the quest fairly early so you can easily find a place or two along the way. If you've played Part 5, you'll recognize many buildings and places and remember what happened there.

To start the side mission, you'll have to go to the large main building in Prosperity and take the stairs up to the left. Here you will find Tracey's shoebox, which contains the photos. They will automatically be placed in your inventory and can be retrieved by pressing a button.

If you have already brought Bean from Wiki-Bean-ia to the base, you can also buy the places you are looking for at his station. Pay 30 ethanol to him and he will mark the corresponding places on your map. Now you just have to go there and compare the photo.
