Escaping from the hospital

Right at the beginning of the episode, Shawn finds himself in a hospital that he wants to escape from as soon as possible. Then the nurse, Joey, comes into the room.

Shawn talks to the orderly about the whereabouts of his brother, which he recently found out. At first Joey refuses to help him break out of the hospital, but Shawn is able to convince him. His idea: have the young man hit him with something and then escape undetected, so Joey won't get in trouble for letting him go.

At this point you can:

  • Hit Joey and escape through the door or
  • Don't hit Jo ey and escape secretly through the window.

  • If you didn't tell Joey before that you know where Daniel is, he won't suggest the attack. Nevertheless, you have the option to perform this action and take Joey by surprise or secretly climb out of the window.

All the decisions will result in Shawn leaving the hospital.

The private property

During the escape, Shawn bumps into two men who want to get him out of the car. If you agree, a conversation ensues in which Shawn has to explain what he's doing on their property. Here you can choose whether Shawn explains to be tired or admits to being lost.

There are also two possible answers to the question of what happened to his eye: It was injured in an accident or in a fight. No matter what you answer, the situation will come to a head. The two men will make fun of Daniel's toy that Shawn is carrying.

If you let the teasing continue, more exchanges will ensue, in which Shawn will be cornered and further accused of being a thief. You force him to accuse himself in his native language.

  • You can agree to this request. Although it is unpleasant, the situation goes smoothly and Shawn can leave after a few sentences in Spanish.
  • Instead of giving in to the men, you can also demand the toy board back with Shawn. This will lead to a fight and also taunts. In this case, however, they degenerate further and the men demand that Shawn sing for them.

  • If you don't feel like singing, Shawn catches another fist. He gets a good beating before the men let him go.
  • If you give in to the request to sing, the situation will be similarly bad. Nevertheless, in the end Shawn will be able to leave the place with his (stolen) car and drive towards the highway.

The Trucker

Later in the game, Shawn stumbles through the desert alone. Visibly exhausted, he limps over to a long-distance truck that has honked at him. The trucker offers Shawn a ride.

  • If you get in without thinking, the driver takes you in your direction and even offers Shawn a sandwich. Whether you accept or decline this offer doesn't really matter.
  • You can also refuse the driver and walk the distance for several hours. Shawn is battered, tired and already limping - walking is not a good idea. But it's up to you how Shawn should travel.

Both choices will lead you to your destination: Daniel. Sometimes it's good to trust strangers. A healthy skepticism, on the other hand, could save your life. In Life is Strange: Before the Storm () you are also an outsider. Experience the story around Chloe and her life in Arcadia Bay.

Penance

Lisbeth offers Shawn to become a part of the community. However, she expects him to repent. The conversation quickly escalates and in the course of the argument Shawn throws Lisbeth to the ground. Daniel has been completely directed by Lisbeth and her community and is an integral part of the group. Shawn cannot accept this and wants to leave with Daniel, but his little brother refuses.

Thrown out of the church-like community and confronted with an irritable man, you again have two choices:

  • If you stay on the ground, the man will shield Shawn from the area with the help of a fence and threaten him with a gun through the wire mesh.

Will you let your brother get to the toy machine or will you try to get a prize yourself?

  • If you get up again after the man's shove, Shawn will directly catch a fist and fall to the ground again. In this case, too, the fence is closed and the gun is drawn. Aside from one more fist bump, your decision here makes no difference.

The burning church

In the burning church, the injured Shawn is again threatened with a gun. Fortunately, Daniel's feelings are still very strong towards his brother and he uses his powers to fling the attacker away with the gun. Shawn grabs the gun and tries to escape with Karen and Daniel, but Lisbeth gets in their way.

  • Point the gun at Lisbeth or ask Daniel to fling her out of the way. The threats don't work very well, though, because Lisbeth isn't afraid of death.

Once again, the game gives you a choice:

  • Kill Lisbeth with the pistol and the way out of the church is clear.
  • Another option is to ask Daniel for help again. He flings Lisbeth away and blows up the doors, allowing them to escape.
  • Due to various decisions in the previous dialogues of the game, it could be that Daniel is much more aggressive and lifts Lisbeth up without any prompting with the help of his powers. It's clear that he wants to kill her to escape together with his big brother.
  • You have the opportunity to defuse the situation and ask Daniel to let Lisbeth go. But Daniel is angry and wants to kill her anyway.
  • Try again to calm your brother down so that he lets her go or shoot Lisbeth yourself so that this burden is not on Daniel's shoulders. Then he flings her away and they can escape.
  • If you decide to kill Lisbeth, Daniel uses his powers and breaks her neck.
