Pokémon GO Beyond: The best tips for the update

Pokémon GO has been delighting numerous players since its release in July 2016, and since then it has been releasing new features and updates that expand the game at regular intervals. In the update "GO Beyond", the maximum level is increased from level 40 to level 50 after many years. In the following guide, we'll tell you what new features you can expect and how you can reach the new maximum level without any problems.

What are the new features of the Pokémon GO Beyond Update?

The new maximum level of 50 results in a reweighting of experience points for all previous levels in Pokémon Go. For all players who have an account whose level is below the previous level limit of 40, it will be all the easier to reach it. Fabulous casts currently bring about 2,000 experience points. This alone, combined with a lucky egg, will raise your level in no time.

The first wave of the sixth generation is also introduced into the game. You'll now encounter around 15 to 20 of the Pokémon in the wild. In addition, the three-month seasons will be introduced, during which there will be new events and actions. The ranks of the battle league will now be raised to 24. Previously, a maximum of the tenth level could be reached.

Starting from level 40, tasks must also be completed for each new level. These include specific tasks, such as catching five legendary Pokémon or running a 200-kilometer route with your partner Pokémon. If you've already reached level 40 for a long time, you'll be credited with the experience points you've already accumulated beyond that.

If you reach level 40 before New Year's Day, explicitly January 1, 2021, you will receive research that holds a Garados Hat. Reaching milestones before the specified date will also reward you with a special medal and certain costumes. Your Pokémon can be leveled up beyond level 40 in the future. This requires the newly introduced XL Candies.

In the future, you will be able to obtainXL Cand ies in various ways. Until December 31, 2020 at 10 p.m., you will receive twice as many experience points for catching Pokémon than is normally the case. Experience Points: How do I get to level 50 quickly?

When collecting experience points, take advantage of the change in the rewards for fabulous casts. Combine this with the catch trick to save precious seconds and throw as many balls at different Pokémon as you can. This, of course, maximizes your fabulous hits and earns you tons of experience points.

Take advantage of various experience bonuses until the New Year, but save lucky eggs for upcoming events. As experience points increase, so will the event rewards. By collecting completed quests and turning them in bundled on Wednesday, while experience points are doubled and a lucky egg is active between 18:00 and 19:00, you will make the most of the bonuses.

How does the catch trick work?

The catch trick in Pokémon GO is very simple. Tap a wild Pokémon, hold your finger over the ball icon in the bottom right corner, and drag it to the left without releasing it. Keep your finger on the screen and use your other hand to throw the ball. Lift your finger from the smartphone as soon as the ball is in the air.

This way, the escape icon will still be displayed in the upper left corner, allowing you to skip the catch animation and exit catch mode. Now turn your attention to another Pokémon. If the previous Pokémon has already been caught, it will disappear from the map in the meantime. If the capture attempt was unsuccessful, simply try again.

Be aware that the catch trick loses its efficiency while riding on the passenger seat. If you perform the trick and move a few meters away from the Pokémon's appearance location, you won' t be able to select it from a distance. The trick also doesn't work when catching a Raid Pokémon. It is best used when you are on the spot and want to catch all Pokémon in the immediate vicinity in a short amount of time.

What tasks do I need to complete to level up?

Until level 40, it was enough to collect a certain amount of experience points to level up. In order to reach the new maximum level in Pokémon Beyond, you will have to complete additional tasks. In the following overview you can find all the tasks you have to complete:
