Outriders Boss Guide: Defeat Yagak - tips for all fights

Outriders: Defeat Yagak for the first time in the campaign

The first time you meet Yagak is in the Utargak area. The leader of the beasts confronts you here, having previously murdered one of your most loyal comrades-in-arms. You can't let this happen to you!

In this fight, concentrate mainly on not letting Yagak get too close to you and always keep moving. The boss attacks mainly with his sword in close combat, which has quite a range. Besides, he will keep rushing towards you and use the Overcharge ability, which will surround him with a shield and cause damage to the surroundings shortly after.

If Yagak wraps himself in a blue shield, save your ammo. Better keep your distance!

Ideally, try to put the abyss and the pillars in the middle of the arena between you and Yagak. Fire at him from all guns. When red circles appear on the ground, immediately roll out of their area of influence - lightning will come down here shortly after.

When Yagak summons Berserkers, take care of them first. This not only gives you a better overview of the battle, but is also a good opportunity to heal and stock up on ammo. Be careful: every now and then Yagak will teleport to you and attack. So always keep moving!

Assault rifles and similar mid-range automatic weapons are best suited for this fight. Sniper rifles and bolt action rifles are not recommended, as Yagak is very mobile and you will quickly lose him from your crosshairs.

Once you have brought Yagak's life bar to zero, he will flee. Your reward: a box with a guaranteed legendary item. The level of the item depends on the world level that was set at the start of the fight.

Outriders: Defeat Yagak for the second time in the campaign

The second fight against Yagak is the final encounter of the Outriders campaign. This time you'll meet him aboard the ship Caraval for a real boss battle in two phases.

Phase 1

Yagak has completely new tricks up his sleeve in the second battle. He now hovers over the battlefield and no longer constantly catapults towards you. However, he now makes life difficult for you in a different way:

  • Yagak summons anomaly orbs, which you should eliminate as soon as they appear on the battlefield.
  • He still uses Overload again and also has a melee attack, so don't get too close to him. In general, you can get a little closer this time, though, since Yagak doesn 't cover distances quite as quickly as he did in the first fight.
  • If the ground glows in electric blue, roll out of the area as fast as possible - this is where you're about to strike Yagak's Sand Worm ability.
  • The fast attacks " Chain Lightning" and "Teleport Grip" are hard to predict and will probably hit you more often.

Yagak's "Anomaly Crack" ability makes blue anomaly orbs appear, which you should eliminate immediately - they are small, annoying turrets that eat away at your life energy.

One problem with this fight against Yagak is that no small enemies appear to give you life or ammo back straightforwardly. Therefore, unless you're playing a Technomancer with built-in damage healing, be sure to equip a life draining weapon. Short to medium range weapons (SMGs, assault rifles, shotguns) are the most effective overall in this boss fight.

Stage 2

Once you've shot away half of Yagak's life bar, the boss will flee outside. Follow him and eliminate the small enemies on the way. After that it gets hairy.

Yagak now carries two blades as weapons, which he hurls at you on long chains. The second phase of the final fight is more like your very first encounter with Yagak: keep your distance and keep moving, as he will now teleport to you again and make wide movements towards you. His Chain Blade attack has quite a long preparation phase, during which you will realize that he is aiming at you. Once the homing marker is stationary, dodge to avoid the attack.

Once again with feeling: in phase 2, Yagak throws all his tricks at you.

To do this, Yagak continues to use the attacks from phase 1. Remember to quickly eliminate the anomaly or bs in particular. Because: In phase 2 the boss also summons Berserkers again - and if you have to deal with them AND the Anomaly Spheres AND Yagak at the same time, you'll lose the overview really fast.

Once you've robbed Yagak of his life bar again, the final cutscene of the game follows. Afterwards you will land in your new camp, from where you can start the final game of Outriders, the expeditions. Before that, open the loot box, where you will find another legendary item.

Outriders endgame: defeat Yagak in the "Eye of the Storm" expedition

Well, are you missing Yagak in the endgame yet? Good news: You can still defeat him in a third boss fight! In the last and most difficult expedition "Eye of the Storm" you will meet him as well. The expedition is meant to be the ultimate test of Outriders, and you should be prepared accordingly. It's best to play it in a team, because it's even more challenging solo.

Phase 1

First complete the tasks and small enemies. Then a cutscene follows and Yagak, who has been floating in the arena in an invulnerable bubble the whole time, attacks! Build up pressure on him from the start and try to freeze him, cover him with ash, inflict bleeding and poisoning on him - anything that will get him under control and drain a lot of life energy quickly. If he summons anomalies, destroy them immediately.

Phase 2

Once you've drained the first third of the life bar, two mini-bosses with massive swords will appear. Finish them off as quickly as possible, and it's best to freeze them as well - once they get the chance to unleash their wide attacks, things get tricky, because they're extremely strong! Their attacks are similar to Yagak's from the first fight in the campaign, so keep your distance and keep moving.

Once the two mini-bosses are defeated, Yagak creates anomaly spheres, which you should destroy immediately: Otherwise, you'll be completely overwhelmed by their superior numbers before long. In parallel, constantly deal damage to Yagak and dodge his attacks: At this stage, these are mainly earthquake attacks that he unleashes near you. Roll out of the blue circle to avoid them.

Phase 3

Once the last third of Yagak's life bar is reached, he continuously creates enemies that you'll have to manage in addition to his attacks and the anomaly orbs Concentrate fire again on the mini-bosses first, as they pose the greatest danger. Then try to drain Yagak of the rest of his life as quickly as possible. If you succeed, all the smaller enemies will disappear and you will have completed the expedition.
