Code Vein Solution: Underground of the ruins of the city

After the cutscenes, "Underground of the Ruins of the City" is the FIRST place in Code Vein where you can finally start slaughtering your way through the monsters. At the beginning, you will find a mistletoe on the right side, where you can rest. Then go straight ahead.

Enemies like to hide behind crates, fall down from the ceiling or set nasty traps for you. Always be on your guard and never feel safe. Enemies with shields are best attacked from behind to give them a quick death.

Code Vein Map - Underground of the city ruins

In most chests you will find equipment in the form of armor and weapons. Depending on the enemy type, this can give you an advantage. Once you arrive at the rotten mistletoe, activate it to get a better overview of the dungeon.

If you go to the right as seen from the mistletoe, you will reach a cliff. At one point on this cliff you can safely jump down and open a chest where you will find a weapon. Run a bit further until the next cutscene.

After the sequence, you are on your own for the time being and should therefore be even more careful than before. Especially with the huge enemy, who looks a bit too much like a coati, you shouldn't just go for it without thinking. Try to sneak up and attack from behind.

Solution: Underground of the ruins of the city - You are not alone

Direct your gaze upwards every now and then. There slimy comrades are waiting for you, falling from the ceiling. But your opponents also do a good job as shooters. Take them out quickly to avoid taking too much damage.

At the next mistletoe the time of loneliness is over. An NPC is already waiting for you and offers to be your companion . Whether you accept his offer or continue to play the lone wolf is up to you.

Code Vein - You don't have to fight alone

When you open the door after the next mistletoe, make sure to kill the enemy onyour left first and only then pick up the item on the right. Wander through the dungeon until you see daylight again.

Outside, the first boss in Code Vein - Oliver Collins - is waiting for you. Defeat him and complete the first dungeon in Code Vein. After that, you'll end up in your base, where there's a lot to discover.

Code Vein Solution: Center of the ruins of the city

Return to the place where you struck down Oliver Collins. Talk to Shang, from whom you can buy precious items. Then follow the path into the ruins. There you will find a dead soldier from whom you can borrow a map.

Run to the mistletoe to start a cutscene. Outside, enter the new section "Center of the ruins of the city". Run towards the cliff and then enter the parking garage. Beware of the enemies hiding behind debris and cars.

Code Vein Map - Center of the Ruins of the City

Noticeable in this level are the particularly large and thick monsters that cause a lot of damage. Therefore, dodging and attacking at the right moment is the highest priority. In the parking garage you will find another mistletoe after a sequence.

Down the ladder at the crossroads, respawning groups of monsters await you again and again. You have to avoid these groups, because killing the enemies won't do you any good. You will only get some items.

Solution: Center of the ruins of the city - The right way

Make it a priority to find the right path or sneak through the groups of enemies if you're after the loot. After activating the mistletoe on the stairs by the parking garage, you should also purify the mistletoe on the cliff.

Code Vein Boss - Butterfly of Delirium

Because once you see a giant cocoon, you're about to face the second level boss that really packs a punch. The Butterfly of Delirium wants to make your life hell with its poison. Equip yourself accordingly with as much antidote as possible.

Once you've killed it, run towards the cocoon and talk to the girl. Then get into the elevator, which will take you down. Run straight ahead until you reach the next level.

Solution: Howling Pit

You can get to the "Howling Pit" by going left at the intersection after the parking garage and climbing down a ladder. There you will find a mistletoe. Opposite is an elevator that will take you to the level or you can carefully jump down the cliff.

Code Vein Map - Howling Pit

The enemies, which strongly resemble the monster from the 80s trash flick "The Fly", deal hard, but attack relatively slowly. Watch out for their attacks, dodge and use the pauses to give them a good spanking.

Flip some levers to light a fire that will light your way. This level is very expansive, but rewards your perseverance with a heartbreaking cutscene.

At the end of the dungeon, another boss fight awaits you. The Invading Executioner tries to send you to the afterlife with her whirling pole dance. Unfortunately, a lot of distance won't help you here, since she can rush at you from a long distance. Study the attacks to stand up to the executioner.

Code Vein Solution: Dried Up Trenches

Caution is called for in this level as well. Enemies will meet you behind rocks and crates or suddenly scramble up a rock wall.

Code Vein Map - Desiccated Trenches

As soon as you have eliminated one enemy, the next one will follow. You have little time and must adapt very quickly to the new combat situation. It's best to clear out enemies that deal ranged damage first.

There is no shame in retreat. If it doesn't work at all, use a vivificator and return to the last mistletoe to heal yourself. After that you know which enemies are waiting for you where and you can clear them out of the way easier than before. Keep running until you can climb down a ladder.

The next boss - the Insatiable Despot - is waiting for you. Pay attention to his fighting patterns and you should do well against him.

Solution: Cathedral of the Holy Blood

Flip switches as you did in the Howling Pit, but this time to open doors. Some paths aren't too obvious, and you'll occasionally have to jump from a floor to a lower platform to advance.

Code Vein Map - Cathedral of the Sacred Blood

Once you're in front of two locked gates, turn back towards Mistletoe and jump down onto a platform just before the entrance on the right. Then climb up the ladder and flip a switch that opens the left of the two locked gates. You can recognize the place where you have to jump down by the broken railing.

Look for ladders if you can't find a way that leads you further. In most rooms you will face normal enemies. As you progress, you will encounter the Silver Wolf Berserker. This boss fight again requires a lot of caution and stamina.

Solution: Memory of [Your character's name]

In this dreary environment, you must first find the Barracks Key to open the gate at the beginning of the level. You will find it on a small ledge. Climb down the ladder. Be careful during your search, because a trap is waiting for you. It is located at the end of a slope that connects the lower and upper parts of the level.

You are near the trap when you see some containers, a warehouse in the background and the glint of an item in front of a pile of sandbags. Don't interact with the supposed item if you don't want to trigger the trap. It will trigger a large wave of enemies.

Code Vein Map - Memories of Your Protagonist

Open the gate with the barracks key and go in search of the camp key. You will find it near the mistletoe, which you will find in a warehouse. You can already see the flashing of the item when you walk past it, but you can only reach it when you go around once. Then go back to the slope and look down carefully.

An item will flash on the ledge below you. Jump down and follow the path until you reach a rotten mistletoe. Activate it to get a better overview. Then go back to the warehouse where you found the first mistletoe and open the shutter.

At the next mistletoe you are almost there. Run over the connecting piece towards the cliff. Climb down the ladder or just jump down. Now you'll have to deal with the queen's knight, who is a real tough one. Pay special attention to your defense and try to dodge him to avoid stronger damage.

Code Vein Solution: Cathedral of the Sacred Blood - The Way to the Boss

Teleport to the cathedral border. You will need a Magnificent Key as you proceed. This is located directly above you after the teleport, but you have to take a small detour for it. When you run up the ladder, you should already see the chest.

Run around it once. When you reach the dead enemy in front of a rotten mistletoe, you are right. Go down the ladder next to him and straight ahead to secure the Magnificent Key in the chest. From the map, keep going south until you reach the gate that the Magnificent Key is for.

Just keep following the path straight ahead, then a cutscene awaits you in front of the next gate, after which you will enter the building in front of you. You will awaken the successor of the chest. In our guide to the boss fights in Code Vein, we'll tell you how to defeat her.

After the sequences, return to the Inner Tower to open the big gate there. There you will find another mistletoe glowing purple. Activate it and you will be transported to the new level.

Code Vein Solution: Ridge of Icy Souls

The ridge of icy souls has a few surprises in store, but it's a pleasant change after the back and forth running in the cathedral. Be especially careful on the narrow paths. They quickly become a death trap as soon as an enemy pushes you down. But of course, you are also able to put a quick end to your opponents this way.

Code Vein Map - Ridge of Icy Souls

Take a good look at the ground in front of you. In some places the ice is very thin. Avoid these places to avoid collapsing and dying.

Always stay on paths that lead you upwards. If you find a cave where you can climb far down, you will only find yourself in front of a locked gate. At the end of the level, you'll face another tough one: the boss enemy Follower of Breath.

Solution: Cinder Cave

To get to the Cinder Cave, return to the Locked Room of the Cathedral of the Sacred Blood. There you will be able to open the gate and take the elevator down to the Cinder Cave. There will be few obstacles on your way.

Code Vein Map - Cinder Cave

Once you have discovered the gate that can only be opened with tokens, you will have to wait a while. First, you'll have to continue searching the level to fight the Gilded Hunter - another boss in Code Vein. Once you defeat him, you'll also get the necessary tokens to open the gate.

Follow the path. In the end, you'll come out in the City of Flaming Rain . The name says it all, because the entire city is on fire. Don't get burned!

Solution: City of Flaming Rain

Pay close attention to where you are going. As soon as you run into the flames, you will suffer damage from them. Also, the ground below you will be partially infused with embers and will cause damage to you.

Code Vein Map - City of Flaming Rain

Try to walk or roll across the surfaces as quickly as possible to minimize damage. Keep enough distance when fighting Lost to avoid being knocked into the flames by them. That way, you should make it through the level reasonably intact to face the Catwoman copycat - the successor to the Claw - at the end.

Code Vein Solution: Sand Crown

After defeating the Successor of the Claw, you will return to the Ridge of Icy Souls. The gate that was closed in the cave a short time ago is now open. This path will take you directly to the Sand Crown.

Code Vein Map - Sand Crown

There are paths buried with sand that will slow you down. But they also offer a particularly good hiding place for enemies. Therefore, you should keep your eyes open here as well and try not to fight battles against lost people in the sand, as even an evasive maneuver will cost you more time than normal.

If your path leads straight ahead for a long time, you will almost reach the end of the level. You can already guess that you're in for a boss fight. Defeat the successor of the throat in an epic battle.

Code Vein Solution: Crypt Spire

In the Crypt Spires, it's tricky to fight on the narrow paths. Better lure your enemies to a larger area so as not to risk falling down. Look around the rooms carefully if you see only one enemy standing there and want to attack him. There are occasionally more enemies waiting on the ceiling to attack you.

Code Vein Map - Crypt Top

You have to unlock three doors with keys on this level open. However, this is relatively easy, since the enemies with the keys are usually in front of the gates or in the immediate vicinity.

Your next boss, or rather bosses, might look familiar in a similar way to the Dark Souls players among you. The counterpart to Ornstein & Smough, namely the Bladebearer and the Cannoneer will probably give you the hardest fight in Code Vein. And as if that wasn't enough, the next adversary will stand in your way shortly after. Our Code Vein boss guide will tell you how to best defeat them.

Juzo Mido wants to make short work of you. However, he is not nearly as demanding as his predecessors, so you should have no problems defeating him. Once you've completed your personal kill streak of 3 bosses in a row, you'll enter the gate to the Transitional Government Suburb.

Solution: Transitional Government Suburb

Defeating the Transitional Government Suburb is not witchcraft. There are no gates to open, no keys, and no other items that you will need to advance. The end of your journey is crowned by an old acquaintance.

Code Vein Map - Suburb of the Transitional Government

The Reborn Knight of the Queen wants his revenge in another boss fight. Give him a good whack to get him off your back for good. With this you have already mastered the level.

Solution: Center of the transitional government

The treacherous thing in the center of the transitional government are tentacles that attack you from the wall. You can recognize them from walls that have several holes in their walls. Watch out for them and your health so that they don't become your undoing.

If you run out of possible ways, it is advisable to smash some crates. Behind them you can occasionally find more passages. But also for the many items in them it would be too bad to leave them untouched.

On your way you will meet Dominic. He will ask you for the BOR parasite report. You will find it in a larger room full of crates and "glass capsules".

Break the crates at the end of the room on the left side. If there is a hidden door behind them, you are correct. Give the document to Dominic and he will tell you some interesting things about the history of Code Vein.

You will pay a little visit to the guardian of the relics. She looks like your companion Io, but she is just a cheap and easily defeated duplicate. Once you have defeated her, you will meet Io at an elevator that will take you to the Prison of Coagulated Blood.

Code Vein Solution: Prison of Coagulated Blood

In the final level, the boss - the Skull King - gets right down to business. Defeat him and he will turn into an even more evil beast, the final boss or The Virgin Birth.

Code Vein Map - Prison of Coagulated Blood

With the completion of the battle, you have managed to play through Code Vein completely. Congratulations and we hope you enjoyed this article. Are you still missing achievements? Then check out our Code Vein trophy guide on how to unlock the rest of the trophies.

Hellfire Knight DLC Solution: Fiery Oblivion

Once you enter the map, you will find a ledge on the right side with several items: a Regeneration Inducer, Pure Blood, a Plasma Cartridge and a Fire Protection Tonic. Then follow the path straight ahead to purify the rotten mistletoe. Continue straight ahead to find another mistletoe, which you activate to create a map of the area.

You can change the difficulty level and complete exams through the dread creature hunting experiments.

To the right of the mistletoe, you will find the Dread Beast Hunting Experiments. There you'll change the difficulty level of the game and find a list of trials, the completion of which will give you rewards. The path splits into two directions. If you go to the left, an enemy is already waiting for you. A bit further on, a ranged fighter will attack you from a ledge.

To get to him, go around the outside. This way you will reach the ledge. If you defeat him and continue straight ahead, you will come to a platform that will break underneath you. You will fall down one floor, where again some monsters are waiting for you. Follow the path out and you are back at the starting point. If you continue along the path to the end, you will meet the Abysmal Doppelganger.

At the end you will meet the Hellfire Knight.

It will be difficult to defeat him, but once you do, you'll get the Asclepius Remains B. If you followed the path straight at the beginning, you'll end up in the arms of several monsters until you notice a cave. You should be careful in the cave, which contains a mistletoe. As soon as you try to activate the mistletoe, some enemies will fall down on you.

At the end of this path, the Glowing Haretic awaits you. Once you have defeated him as well, you will receive the Asklepios Remains A. With the two Asklepos Remnants A and B you can open the gate to the Hellfire Knight. Our Code Vein boss guide tells you how to defeat him.
