Elden Ring: Hyetta - Quest Guide & Alternate Ending

Successfully completing the quest for NPC Hyetta will unlock an alternate ending in Elden Ring. What tasks await you and how you can always find the pilgrim of light, we describe in this guide.

How to initiate the quest for Hyetta

In order for Hyetta to appear at all, you must first initiate a side quest on the Peninsula of Tears. Shortly after crossing from Limgrave to the Peninsula, you will meet Irina. Talk to her and she will hand you a letter to her father. Only after you receive the letter will Hyetta appear in Liurnia and the quest can begin.

Find the first Shabriri Grape and meet Hyetta

You will find the first Shabriri Grape after defeating Boss Godrick (Guide) at Storm Veil Castle. Once the transplanted one is done, you will have access to his throne room. Cross it and grab the Shabriri Grape from the ghost in one of the chambers. Follow the path outside and you will reach the place of mercy "Sea Cliffs".

If you don't want to face Godrick at first, you can also enter the throne room from the back. To do so, follow the path as described in our guide to ghost summoning in Elden Ring. This way you will reach the back entrance and also come to the chamber with the Shabriri Grape.

Light pilgrim Hyetta now appears at the sea cliffs. Give her a Shabriri Grape in conversation and she will give you the gesture "As you wish" in return. There is nothing more to discuss with her for the time being.

Hyetta will ask you for a Shabriri Grape at your first meeting.

Find the second Shabriri Grape and meet Hyetta for the second time

Travel north from the Sea Cliffs mercy location until you reach the Purified Ruins. You will find the second Shabriri Grape in the large ruin guarded by several soldiers. Finish them off and roll across the wooden floor to uncover a secret cellar.

In the treasure chest is the talisman "Heir of the Two Fingers", which increases the Faith attribute. Next to it lies the grape. Take it to the lakeside in front of the ruins and talk to Hyetta.

You will find the second Shabriri Grape in the Purified Ruins. Hyetta awaits you on the shore to the west.

Find the third Shabriri Grape and meet Hyetta for the third time

Next, head west to the Avenger's Hut. Once you've completed Irina's quest on the Peninsula of Tears, Edgar will attack you here as an invader. Kill him and he will drop a Shabriri Grape.

If you haven't continued Irina's quest, you can find Edgar at Castle Morne in the south of the Peninsula of Tears. There, you can simply kill the peaceful NPC or continue the short quest and defeat the Lion-like Beast, which will earn you one of Elden Ring's Legendary Weapons (Guide).

With the third Shabriri Grape in tow, ride north along the road from the Purified Ruins until you reach the Gate City Bridge. A few yards north of the Place of Mercy, Hyetta stands and asks for the Grape. Give it to her and then tell her what Shabriri Grapes actually are. Reload the area and talk to her again.

At the Avenger's Hut, you will be attacked by Edgar, who is carrying a Shabriri Grape.

Find the fingerprint grape and meet at the Church of Bellum

Hyetta then wanders on and finds herself at the Church of Bellum, along the road between Raya Lucaria and the crossing to Altus Plateau. She will ask you there for a fingerprint grape. To get it, you'll have to defeat the Festering Fingerprint Vyke.

At the meeting at Bellum Church, Hyetta has a new request for you.

Ride along the road towards Altus Plateau and turn right just before the entrance to the Dectus elevator. Ride up the hill, cross the village and you will reach the Church of Inhibition at the top of the hill. There Vyke will attack you. Defeat him and you will receive the Fingerprint Grape, his armor and Vyke's War Spear. Take the grape to Hyetta afterwards.

You can find Hyetta's fingerprint grape at the Church of Inhibition.

Final meeting with Hyetta at the Cathedral of the Lost

To complete the quest, you need to find the underground area "Reserve of Shame" in the Royal Capital Leyndell. We describe where the access is in our quest guide to the Manure Eater.

You can find the way to the boss arena in our boss guide to Mohg the Mark. Hit the altar in the Cathedral of the Lost after the victory and you will uncover a secret passage. Climb down the path and you will reach the "Ostracism of the Frenzied Flame". Next to the place of mercy, Hyetta awaits you.

Completing Hyetta's quest and unlocking the alternate ending

Talk to Hyetta and then discard all your equipment. Clad only in your underwear, open the door and receive the Fiery Flame of the Three Fingers behind it.

  • Caution: As soon as you open the door, you will unlock the alternate ending "Lord of the Fiery Flame". This means you won 't be able to experience any other ending in this passage . Also, Melina will say goodbye to you if you haven't ignited the Earth Tree yet. You can only reverse the Fierce Flame if you get Miquella's Needle at the end of Millicent's quest (guide).

Talk to Hyetta again and choose "Touch Hyetta" in the dialog. After the conversation, you will receive the Fiery Flame Seal and five Fiery Flame Stones. If you reload the game, Hyetta will be gone and the quest will be completed.

Talk to Hyetta and then go naked to the door on the left to receive the Fierce Flame.
