Apex Legends Gibraltar - Passive Ability: Weapon Shield

When aiming via rear sight, a weapon shield activates, covering your entire body in front of you and blocking 100 damage. Only Gibraltar's head and feet remain unprotected.

The shield gives you considerable advantages in direct duels, especially at the beginning of a round - when you may not yet have blue or purple armor. Two small bars on the left and right of your weapon tell you how much energy the shield has left when you use it. Once destroyed, it takes a short time to recharge.

You should know, however, that the shield makes you very visible to your opponents. It glows blue or white. If you want to use the scope of your sniper rifle to scout the area, you should therefore deactivate the shield.

On the PC you can do this by pressing the "H" key, on the consoles you just have to press down on the digipad. Just don't forget to reactivate the shield for the next fight by pressing the same key.

Apex Legends Gibraltar - Tactic Ability: Protective Dome

Gibraltar's tactics ability gives you the possibility to place a protective dome. Like Lifeline's shield wall, the dome is indestructible. It blocks bullets from both inside and outside and lasts for 15 seconds. After that, it needs 20 seconds to be placed again.

If you are fired upon in an open field, use the dome to provide cover or to escape with the protective dome behind you. The dome also offers you protection against artillery strikes from Bangalore or an enemy Gibraltar.

Use the protective dome to recharge your shields.

If you use the dome indoors, be aware that it goes through walls, so any enemy in the vicinity can see which building you are in. However, in combination with Bangalore's Smoke Thrower and Bloodhound's Ulti, you can set excellent traps for the enemies.

Place the dome and cover it in smoke as soon as the enemies rush into the building. Bloodhound can now see the enemies through the smoke and kill them with the help of his Ulti. Just: beware of enemy Bloodhounds, who can also spot you through the smoke.

Apex Legends Gibraltar - Ultimate Ability: Defensive Bombardment

Defensive Bombardment triggers a mortar attack at the desired location two seconds after you cast the Flare. The attack lasts for eight seconds and deals 40 damage per hit. At the same time, it stuns hit enemies for a short time.

In addition, the bombardment can be used to secure tight spots. It deters your enemies and buys you time. Likewise, you can throw the Ulti at yourself and then secure yourself with the dome. This will give you eight seconds to heal up.

If you're approaching an occupied house, rain the bombs down on the house to trap the enemies there and block their view of you with the kicked-up dust.
