There's nothing to do in Days Gone without a motorcycle. Because in the PlayStation 4-exclusive title, it's the only way to get around Oregon comfortably. But you'll have to take good care of your bike - if you run out of gas, you'll have to push it.
In addition, the bike also needs to be improved bit by bit. How exactly and what else you should know about the vehicle, we show you in this guide.

1. Days Gone: What the bike is good for
As the introduction correctly suggests, your motorcycle is the lynchpin of the gameplay in the open-world game. With the vehicle you go from mission to mission and through the entire world. Theoretically, you can also walk through the world, but that's not very comfortable or goal-oriented.
Besides, many missions require your motorcycle - so you can't do it without it anyway. Besides being a transportation option, the vehicle also serves as an ammo box. If you buy saddlebags, you can store new cartridges in them. In addition, you can only reach some of the NERO syringes that are essential for survival with the bike.
Also, it is only possible to save and use fast travel in close proximity to the bike. However, the vehicle also means responsibility for you. For one thing, it can break down, and for another, you don't have an infinite amount of gas in the tank. If it runs out, you have to push it - except in main missions, where there is no fuel gauge. Fast travel also costs gas - so if you have a small tank, you can't travel everywhere.
To prevent this from happening, you can and should upgrade your bike. You can find different upgrades at the different factions, with which you can gradually upgrade your motorcycle to the best in all of Oregon. Performance and looks both improve the bike's stats as well - only paint jobs change the look.
2. Where to find gas in Days Gone
The easiest way to make sure you never run out of gas is to travel from warehouse to warehouse and have the local mechanics refill your tank. However, this also costs credits each time, which you could also put into upgrades.
That's why the other options are even more worthwhile: gas stations are "hidden" all over the world. Once you've uncovered the map thanks to the ambush camps, Days Gone will mark the gas stations in the world. Lay out your routes so that you always pass one, the filling here is free. On the other hand, there are often enemies and freakers loitering around.
Alternatively, there are red gas can s lying around in many areas. There is always one at NERO research stations, but you should also find some in small settlements. Again, the filling is free. You don't have to worry about running out of gas, either at the canister or at the gas stations. There is always enough.
3. Days Gone: All the performance upgrades for your bike
The performance upgrades have a direct influence on your bike. Here you can upgrade the engine, increase the tank size, or install nitrous oxide injection - which you should also buy as soon as possible. These upgrades are all waiting for you:
