To the delight of all Borderlands fans, developer Gearbox has announced the first DLC Moxxi's Heist of The Handsome Jackpot for Borderlands 3 after just three months. Gearbox plans to release a total of four DLCs, which should provide significantly more game content. In our guide, we have the most important information about the first DLC ready for you.

What Moxxi's Heist of The Handsome Jackpot is about

In the first Borderlands 3 DLC, you take over a space station for Mad Moxxi, which was built by Handsome Jack during his lifetime. You'll be assisted by Moxxi's crew. It soon turns out that the space station is a huge casino that you are supposed to loot.

You'll fight your way through hundreds of enemy robots, bandits and completely new enemies. Flashy neon signs and advertisements set the mood for the game and fit the ambience perfectly. You'll encounter slot machines again and again, where you can let out your gaming lust.

If the one-armed bandits aren't enough for you, you can compete against robot dealer holograms at the roulette or live it up at the blackjack tables and try to use the card counting trick from the movie 21.

This new content awaits you in the DLC

Gearbox has released very little concrete info on new content, but has announced some unspecified new features. Among other things, there will be the following new features:

  • New enemies like the Hyperion Loader bots
  • More Crew Challenges
  • New side missions
  • Additional legendary weapons and shields
  • Several unreleased cosmetic items like alternative outfits, heads for the exterminators and weapon ornaments

Release date, cost & more: The most important facts

Moxxi's Heist of The Handsome Jackpot is scheduled for release on December 19, 2019. The DLC is available for free to players who own the Borderlands 3 Season Pass or own the Super Deluxe Edition. For everyone else, the DLC is available separately and will cost 14.99 euros.

The DLC will be released for Microsoft Windows, macOS, Xbox One, Playstation 4 and Google Stadia platforms. To access the DLC, you must have reached at leastLevel13 in the game and be able to enter Sanctuary III, otherwise you won't be able to head to the space station.
