Borderlands 3 Amara Build: The Beginner Build

Beginner build highlights: Perfect for new level 50 characters, good beginner build, suitable for leveling, high self-healing
Skill trees: Melee, Mystic Attack & Elemental Fist

Link to the Build: The Beginner Build

The beginner build is an excellent build for characters who have not been at the maximum level for a long time. Newly created exterminators can also use this build as a guide to gain the necessary equipment while leveling. The skill is particularly effective in close combat.

Due to the high level of self-healing, you can survive with the beginner build even on a high difficulty level. However, the melee-heavy gameplay makes it difficult to fight flying enemies. Boss fights are also difficult at times, as many attacks are more dangerous at close range.

"Samsara" is the most important talent for your self-healing, which also boosts damage. Maximum stacks of the talent "Mindfulness" increase shield regeneration lag by up to 575 percent and double movement speed.

"Lightning" is the core talent for your offense, replacing the melee attack with a special ability. The special attack lets you charge forward and perform an elemental melee attack. This ability gets an eight-second cooldown if you don't kill an enemy while using it.

Other important talents include Restless, Ascendancy, and Glowing Fist. If you're having trouble surviving due to low Health, take a few points from the Clarity talent and invest them in Growth Root. This way you trade a little life regeneration for more life points.

The item list for the beginner build

The following is a list of items that work best with the beginner build. The Commander Planetoid artifact is the most important item in this build. The best item for the artifact is the fire item. The artifact also works very well with cryo or radiation damage.

Of course, due to the regular melee situations you'll get into with this build, the shield is just as important as the artifact. Due to the 300 percent increase in melee damage, Ward is the best choice as a shield mod.

Psycho Stabber is the first choice and should be your main weapon. You can use MOARR Linoge as a transitional weapon. When choosing a weapon, look for the highest possible melee damage, as it can be less than 120 percent.

Note: The "Important Stats" table indicates which stats on the item have the highest priority. This should make it easier for you to compare two items.

Borderlands 3 Amara Build: The Puppeteer

Puppeteer Highlights: Control enemy masses, high elemental damage, enhanced action skill, good for co-op games, needs practice
Skill trees: Elemental Fist & Mystic Attack

Link to Build: The Puppeteer

The Puppeteer build is suitable for characters who have been at max level for a while and have already collected some equipment. Due to the enhanced action skill Phase Clutching, it can unfold its full potential especially in co-op mode.

This build also shines in single player against Badass enemies and Anointed. The biggest drawback of the skill is its dependence on certain pieces of equipment. Also, the playstyle requires practice so that you don't die regularly. However, once these two hurdles are overcome, there is hardly a better build for Amara.

Battles against masses of enemies are very easy for you as a puppeteer. The elemental damage dealt is extremely high, so switching weapons is always done according to the weakness of the enemies. You can find out which elemental effects are particularly effective in which situations in our ultimate Borderlands 3 beginner's guide.

"Nimble Hands" and "Life Preservation" are the most important talents of the two talent trees. "Nimble Hands" increases reload speed, weapon change speed, and mode change speed tremendously. "Life Preservation" regenerates your health by 20 percent of the damage done.

The item list for the Puppeteer

Night Hawking is the best weapon you can use with this build. It deals very high elemental damage to individual targets, but is dependent on the time of day. That's why you need other weapons to compensate for this weakness. Cutsman and Crossroad are other SMGs that are very strong.

Since you can quickly run out of ammo for one type of weapon, you should diversify. Assault Rifles are the best alternative to the SMG and Laser Sploder offers the best conditions for this skill. Roman's Call and Lucian's Call can be used as alternatives if you don't already have Laser Sploder.

Victory Rush increases the damage you deal, while Last Stand is an alternative that helps you survive. The other mods are not essential for the build, but they strengthen it in the best possible way.
